How about a daily schedule instead of individual posts ?
I personally don't mind the individual posts, I'm more than happy for Super Radio Stafford to use The Forum for promotion. As I say, I did a lot of work in my own time to help promote them, added a button to the Useful Links sidebar, etc. My post, which seems to have started a minor fracas, was just to ask if any listeners had heard Stafford Forum mentioned on the radio!

Super Radio has plenty of followers on the Stafford Remembered facebook page. You should try listening to Mark Mac's 70's show on a Sunday at 18:00 and watching the comments on the Stafford Remembered page. It's a very popular show.
Thanks for the tip Mrs M, hopefully Mark's show will be more to Forumites' tastes. :)

If you don't like it then don't listen to it, simple.

All I pick up on this page is negativity.
Thanks for that but I do not thankfully listen to the football. I equally don't much like it rammed down my throat by what appears to be an automated, vacant, posting.

Finally, I don't like being termed negative. If you can't share oposing views on this forum, then how do you discuss anything - we'd all have the same opinions wouldn't we ?

Hey John, that's strange - I listened last week and decided there were no DJs.

When were you listening ?
Guess I must be one of the "lurkers" then !!

But, following from my post earlier today, and stuff discussed much earlier on this thread, couple of things don't seem to add up: Firstly an online radio station that starts broadcasting without a website; and secondly, (and this must surely take the biscuit) - a radio station broadcasting with no DJs !!!

The community angle is laudable and I think Stafford seriously needs promoting, it's a great place to live with alot to offer; but has this radio project been planned properly or is it just being made up as it rumbles along ?
Thanks Withnail for the generous welcome !

I also listened to Stone FM, it was quite amusing and upbeat while it lasted. It seemed to make a big impression in its time. Let's see what becomes of Super
Hey Linda, good to see you on board!

Ray Crowther's running this Super Radio project, but wasn't he also running Stafford FM Radio as well ? Why the name change ?
Yeah, see your point Withnail ;) But guess it could have been Stafford Radio. I also wish it was on FM, do you think this internet radio stuff will catch on ?
Think that was supergold, not sure where it went - but didn't think much of it, signal was rough. Anyone got more info ?
Friday night 7.45 pm and still no frigging DJs ! - I've heard about robots and automation, but Max Headroom was more talkative than this.

I even know the adverts off by heart now (my favourite has got to be "Rubble & Bricks" !!)

Come on guys, Entertain us
I'm sorry but I don't really like football :-(
Stafford Rangers must be a busy bunch !!
Interesting, seems like there are plenty of job opportunities in Stafford at the moment
Well said the Gov !

I'm also fed up with the incessant, uninspiring posts - and I've never heard Stafford Forum mentioned on air once (but then again I've got pretty bored listening recently). At least this Forum has plenty of followers, on Shoutcast there are usually only ever 6 listeners !
I would think some updates for shows would be appreciated as long as they were included as parts of thread discussions rather than a cut and paste job that stands like a huge billboard blocking our path to discussion.

Kind of tailored to suit the thread?
Has the pitchfork brigade already got there 'cause my stream's stopped?

Anyone else struggling to listen in?
Thanks for checking - thought it might be my compter !
I'm getting nothing.
Just tried Radio 2 'cause am using USB stick - can get rad 2 fine so it's not my stick.

You say your not negative but it seems very odd that you only registered on the 4th Jan and on the 5th you were welcoming people on board. Also you have only ever made 16 comments and all of them on the Super Radio thread. Hmmm, makes me wonder why you are so against Super Radio. Wonder who else you are on here??

For the record, I am confident that bobby_dazzler is not another user masquerading under a different name, so I wouldn't worry on that front.

It is a shame that his comments are confined to this thread, as you say Mrs M, but everyone is entitled to their opinion!

I'm not having a go by the way, bobby_dazzler; just saying that it would help your "street cred" if you joined in some of the other threads, so it doesn't look like you're a one-man Super Radio Stafford assassin. ;)

Come on people, this should be a positive thread, let us do away with all this negativity! Super Radio Stafford and Stafford Forum ultimately want the same thing: To gain as many followers as possible, and increase the profile of Stafford. :D

Thanks Admin, no offence taken, but think I might just take you up on that and move to another thread whilst the dust settles!

And for the record "Mrs M", I do not "masquerade" - this is a thread about Super Radio and my comments were addressed as such. Do you masquerade perhaps ??

Hello please don't beat me down, I'm Steve the mid-morning presenter Tuesday To Thursday.

Can i just ask if its the lack of Djs that is bugging you. ( We are after people to come on board if your up for the job all you need to do is get in touch info@super-radio.co.uk)

Next weekend the music is changing to just pure hits from the 60's to 2011but it will be radio 2 style not beacon signal1 etc. we have moved the news to on the hour.

I understand we are not perfect, some said why did we not use Stafford FM as ray ran that. Stafford FM name is owned by someone Else so we cant use that. Steve Rowney is the man who chosen the name super radio Stafford.

hope i can be of help in anyway. by the way i will always give the stafford forum a plug.

Ah, so glad you logged-on, Super-radio-stafford! Don't worry, no beat-downs here - if you read through the thread you will hopefully see that most people, myself included, are very supportive of what you're doing! Any criticism in here is meant constructively, to help you identify problems and try and improve so that you can attract more listeners. Which means more people to hear shout-outs for Stafford Forum! :D

Lovely, thanks very much for taking time to log-on and answer my question. :)

Enjoying a drop of red.
Can't say that football is my thing either, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be on Super Radio. If the station is to be popular in the community then it must reflect as much as possible what different people like. Nowt wrong with bigging up the local team.

Broadly speaking I like the music that is played at the times I tend to listen. Cutting down the DJ chat over the beginning or end of the music has been a big improvement. Introducing some contemporary music into the playlist, as you have just posted Steve, will I think spice things up nicely.

As for my previous comments about presenting they were not intended to put somebody down, but simply to point out the things that in my opinion grate and which with a bit of practice can be easily resolved.

Blimey, it's all getting a bit heavy around here! I think we must remember that everyone's entitled to their opinion. Plainly the station isn't currently to everyone's liking so people are free to air their views. As has been said before this will then give a true reflection of what people of the county town want and don't want on a new radio station. This will then allow Super Radio, Signal and any others to tweak their outputs accordingly.
So forumites like John, Linda, Bobby and others should be allowed to express their opinions on here without fear of repercussions, the likes of which we've seen this afternoon.
I also think it's laudable, if a little OTT that members such as Mrs M are prepared to go to such lengths to defend something like this. Although all the cutting and pasting is not really necessary as it disjoints the threads somewhat.
I don't think anyone's been out of order, just truthful. So let's carry on and enjoy this forum for what it is. An open and friendly place for people to express their opinions.
I'll get off my soap box now and go and have my tea!

So ok thanks to everyone who has give us a try, we can only get better at what we do. So I need to ask what does people want from super radio. Our music will be improved, what's sports would you like us to cover. Would you like a problem phone in show.. Give me some ideas so I can take it to the table and say right the people of stafford want this...

I understand that some presenters need a bit more training I can sort that to try and help them along.

Community events if you know Amy going on / having one ur selfsame let us know I will pit it on the what's on guide.

I'm here to help guys and girl

Many thanks for reading this

Steve.

Just wondering if the 'M' in 'Mrs M' stands for 'Mac' as in 'Mark Mac's 70's show. On until 9 o'clock'?
Curious, that's all.

No, it's Murray and it's a great show if you took the time to listen ilnstead of thinking everyone has an alterior motive.

I have it on now and then and quite like the reduced chatter format. Tomorrow, I intend to remedy my serial failure to listen to Eric and Jake on a Tuesday from 6 to 8 in the evening...

We'll see if I manage it..
