    Holly Bush, Salt.

Anyone daft enough to take this on is going to face an uphill battle. The rent is ridiculous for a pub of this size (and tied too!). There's no central heating, so keeping the place warm in Winter must be perilously expensive. Also, local competition is stiff. And anyone taking it on is going...

    Fuel Wankers.

That market is supply-constrained. Has been for years. So the effect on sales in the short-term can only be minor. Large scale clean hydrogen production via electrolysis is a long, long way off. It requires an abundance of renewable electricity for a start. Until then, steam reforming from...

    Fuel Wankers.

I bet the person responsible for buying EV vans for the business is feeling pretty smug right now

    Labour candidate

Lovely choices this time out. A midwife from Hampshire parachuted in by Momentum vs Rees-Mogg's niece who grew up near Bristol and lives in Hammersmith vs an 18-year old kid from Shrewsbury. The only candidate with local connections is the Green, who lives on Castlefields.

Food Court Pics for the Guildhall

It's probably better the students don't go there. A number of them seem allergic to the notion of paying for stuff. I guess stealing is more convenient.

    Beaconside/Marston Grange

Not on the Stafford site. I don't know why housebuilders do freehold on some sites and leasehold on others. It all seems a bit random. I guess it maybe has something to do with land value?

    Stafford Traffic.

Why is it that Chell Road attracts so many idiots that don't know how to drive? People hammering it down the merging lane at dangerous speeds, or refusing to give way to traffic ahead of them at the merge point, and attempting to then undertake after the merge? I suspect the almost inevitable...

    Morrisons coming to Stafford?

Sainsbury's aren't going anywhere. They're getting new self-service tills and a change in till layout as part of an ongoing investment in the store ahead of Morrison's opening.

    Morrisons coming to Stafford?

Same terms as Asda/Tesco as far as I'm aware.

    Morrisons coming to Stafford?

Morrison's car park will be free when it opens.

    Morrisons coming to Stafford?

We were told September by the council, but that's pretty much impossible given Morrison's haven't started recruiting yet. I guess maybe the council don't know themselves...

New Birmingham to Manchester rail route

There is no funding gap. We're saving £350m a week by leaving the EU, so it'll only take 100 weeks of savings to pay for HS2... :D;)

    Morrisons coming to Stafford?

You're right. Wrong technical term. But no, Halfords aren't losing any spaces. Lidl are losing a few. Tenpin are losing a few more. The plans have been designed so as to cause the bare minimum disruption to the retailers in the area. So, aside from a slight mistake as to whether or...

    Morrisons coming to Stafford?

Halford were. They changed their minds a while back now, before they refurbished the existing store. IIRC it was the new bypass that changed their mind. Their existing shop will be in a really good location once the new road is complete.

    Coat Hanger Recycle?

I think Sainsbury's will take them. I'll check tomorrow.

    Hugh wind turbine appeared.

I'm hugely in favour of Wind Turbines. Overall, they're one of the best energy solutions we have. But placing them next to Dover Marshes is just a bad idea. There's significant evidence to suggest that placement plays a significant role in reducing bird deaths caused by turbines. Placing them...

Odeon Limitless time :D Unless this is one of those Odeon cinemas that do £5 tickets. But I doubt that.

    Morrisons coming to Stafford?

Morrison's isn't opening in June. The article doesn't say that. Work on the Morrison's site is due to be completed in June, but there's no way the shop (assuming Morrison's plan to open on the site - that also hasn't been confirmed) will be open that soon. The shop has to be fitted out, and...

The Dunkability of the Modern Biscuit

Biscuits aren't less dunkable. We just eat less dunkable biscuits than we used to. Rich Tea remain the unbeaten king of the dunk. Hob Nobs are useless - the texture is too loose and they contain too much fat. They soak up water fast and the heat melts the fat, making the biscuit fall apart...
