I posted elsewhere recently that the lady from the council said in the newsletter that one of the ideas was to have big screen TV in the park to show live football games. In the words of Shania.....that don't impress me much
I may be going a bit off track here but not only do we have destruction of marshes, the leisure officer at Council who supported the rugby club application is in Newsletter today saying we will have big screen football matches screened in Victoria Park!
Maybe this should be a thread of its own?
Which flag will be flying on Staffordshire Day? I read in Newsletter that county council are not recognising the legality of the flag basically because they didnt win!
One of recent comments on the application comes from the leisure department. It makes points but says in broad terms says it supports Rugby club.
As has been mentioned on here the boss of that department is / was a director of the club but this was not transparent.
I gave MAL credit for...
Thanks and now seen. Sorry, don't keep up on the thread as much as I should. I will attend the meeting next week as I have some time free.
I know I'm being lazy but can someone save me looking and tell me time of meeting. Is it at Council buildings and I guess there is nothing to stop public...
Has he commented on the latest application? That email is from March last year so I presume it was for previous application.
Would you not have to make your objections known on the present application?
I know it seems farcical as the two are almost the same but if he hasn't objected this time...
I don't like this application. I think the reasons for siting it here are unsound. I think there has not been transparency regarding the involvement of a rugby club director and his role at the council and their support for this. And yes - Lord Staffords interests seem to be the real interest...
I've worked in retail for a couple of biggish companies and it was not unusual for people to have these agreements when they fell out with the bosses and left.
One of the personnel staff told me it was because even if you won a tribunal case the company often finished up paying lawyers loads...
Just look at the whole document in link Gramaisc pasted.
I think it is clear and with enough names is a good opportunity to get it on an official public agenda and debated by all councillors as this application did not even get to a planning committee.
You are wrong. Just looked on their website. 1250 names and it can be debated at full council.
And on the front page of Newsletter recently was the chap who tried to get the Santa Parade back on and he only had a few hundred names but was allowed to present it and speak at their cabinet meeting...
Petitions are ok but surely it is straightforward - to appeal or not to appeal?
I'd sign if I knew it would help an appeal.
And why start a petition on there and not on the council website because that way if you get enough names you can have it debated in public.
So the final leg of my treble is done. Rugby and footie applications approved. Hockey refused. An accumulator I would have been happy to be wrong about.
I have not read all about the applications but the bits I have seen I think (hope) this is far from over.
Do not see logic of council...
Been to rock and roll panto three out of last four years.
Child was four on the first one and enjoyed it.
They do all the traditional "he's behind you" "oh no it isnt".
They do shout outs and the traditional panto Dame.
Difference is the music is great, the actors are also good musicians but...
I think you are being a little naive expecting many people on here to be more positive. Negative is always the most popular.
Example - The town is dying! New shops are not the ones we want or in the wrong place.
We can't find a place to park. But nobody comes in to town any more. The new multi...
