Hi Folks, can anyone remember the developer who converted and sold the Oval apartments? If I remember correctly the first developer went bump and were bought out part way through.

Anyone got a clue when work on site is likely to commence? Also does anyone know who owns the area of undeveloped land opposite behind the cinema?

    Chetwynd Centre to be Sold

Yes I would say I am. I give it 50/50 of coming off as we may need large infrastructure projects to keep things going with Brexit in the offing. Not holding my breath but fingers are crossed.

    Chetwynd Centre to be Sold

I'm not an advocate of HS2 over all, but if the gravy train does roll I hope it stops in town! Stafford Gateway Masterplan.

Indeed, the pond has been there for many years. Its a nice spot, saw various breeds of ducks and a heron on it at the weekend so hopefully our bird friends will be looked after. Sadly there was a dealer selling to Castlefields kids on the path next to it also, hopefully they won't!

    Chetwynd Centre to be Sold

Now wouldn't that be something. I also walk past them every day and wonder if the old cinema, adjoining shops and the plot of land at the rear will be replaced by a new development in time. With the new cinema, park regeneration and potential HS2 station it could become a prime spot.

    Chetwynd Centre to be Sold

Hi Wormella, thanks for all the great info. I live on Friars Terrace so I'm quite interested in this development. I would urge people not to be put off by the new properties backing onto Tesco. The noise is minimal, far less than the train lines many other properties (inc new developments) back...
