I’m in the early process of having this done too. Out out interest , how long did it take to complete all the work? Were they quite flexible in regards to when they come ?
Spoken to octopus . They will let me switch but they won’t install a new meter. If I did switch my meter would lose all smart function.
Contacted British Gas and asked if there was anyway to boost signal , here’s their reply
No I’m on a variable tarriff. British Gas was the provider when I moved in a year ago , I did try to change but after going through all the price comparison stuff I never got any quotes just a message that said that suppliers weren’t taking on new customers , or something along them lines.
Well that’s what I thought too ( about signal getttibg back to BG) . Maybe engineer just took one look at my meter location and just thought F### that 🤣. My meter is in the kitchen ceiling 😂.
Makes me wonder whether I’m even benefiting from the solar panels , since there’s no mention of them on...
When I’m moved in here last year . I rang British Gas and asked them for a display . They sent someone out to set one up but he said he couldn’t do it because it was the older smart meter and they can’t get hold of the displays for them anymore and it wouldn’t work anyway because apparently...
Yes but I don’t have an in home display or anything. Think it’s an old one as British Gas rang me last week to book in to fit new one as mine is apparently going to stop working soon 🤷♀️
