    Help with Pycharm

I've used it a little bit - when you say "pycharm text command prompt" do you mean going into the terminal window and typing "python" 20:07 $ python Python 3.7.4 (default, Jul 9 2019, 18:13:23) [Clang 10.0.1 (clang-1001.0.46.4)] on darwin Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for...

Are the speed cameras working in Staffordshire?

Driving through Penkridge on my daily commute this week I noticed the speed limit has gone from 40 to 30. No idea when it happened but I had wondered why everyone was going so slow :) There's at least one camera in the 30 zone, but no idea if it's been changed to the new limit (or even if it...

Parental control app for tablet, advise please

For parental controls I use opendns. It's free to set up an account and needs a couple of changes to the settings on your router. The advantage (or disadvantage :)) is that it applies to every device that connects through your wifi. Of course there are ways around it but for the level my kids...

Stafford Asda Bakery adding extras to their loaves

It's more likely the sesame paste they paint on the top has somehow got inside. It does look a bit slimy. Best thing to do of course is return it...

    Parsons Heating and Plumbing

I was charged £235 (inc vat) for the work I had done. We had all the radiators (I'd taken them off to decorate) but some of the valves needed replacing. So I guess it was mostly labour and he was here for 4hrs. The other good thing I will say is that the time from phoning them up for a quote...

    Parsons Heating and Plumbing

I had them around yesterday to service the heating and put some radiators on. Really pleased - in fact I've asked them to quote for a couple of other jobs that need doing.

    Plasterer in Stafford

Well a day and a half to do my hall/stairs/landing and I'm really pleased with it. They're a hard working pair and I can't fault the job. Definitely be using them again!

Virgin Media broadband issues in Stafford - Sun 26th Aug 2012

If you're getting compensation keep an eye on the bill. https://my.virginmedia.com/my-bills/index They take a few days to show up on there but the amounts I was promised is nothing like what I've actually been credited :(

Virgin Media broadband issues in Stafford - Sun 26th Aug 2012

Well after a ruck of phone calls to CS I've finally had an engineer out today and (for now) it's working again. Apparently there's been problems with noise in the area causing poor connections and networks aren't sure where it's coming from. On the 29th they came around a number of green...

Virgin Media broadband issues in Stafford - Sun 26th Aug 2012

We had a van outside our house playing with the green box for an hour last night. I did phone them up again for an update after he went (still wasn't working) and was given another £10 credit. It's supposed to be fixed by 9am tomorrow! Fingers crossed :)

Virgin Media broadband issues in Stafford - Sun 26th Aug 2012

Looks like it might be local to me (Highfields) rather that a Stafford issue according to CS. I have a fault reference now so I'm trying to get more information.

Virgin Media broadband issues in Stafford - Sun 26th Aug 2012

Virgin mobile uses the t-mobile network and there's been problems there as well. I'm with t-mobile and spent most of yesterday without any signal. I spoke to the customer services on twitter and they said there was some congestion due to a few transmitters in the area being worked on. It...

Virgin Media broadband issues in Stafford - Sun 26th Aug 2012

I don't think that service status is related to the issues I've had today. It's gone off a couple of times since I first posted. Back on again now though. I'm never convinced by the info that comes out of the India call centres (other forums that deal with VM say the same) so if it's still...

Virgin Media broadband issues in Stafford - Sun 26th Aug 2012

We were having trouble with the internet this morning so did all the normal turn-it-off-and-on-agains but nothing made any difference. Rang VM and I was told there's an intermittent fault in the Stafford area at the moment which will be fixed by the 31-8-2012. Got a £10 credit on the account...

    Inherited a hard drive

Maxtor and Seagate are the same company now. At the top of that page it tells you what to do for Maxtor drives. Seatools (on the site) should be able to tell you if there's a problem with the disk. Can't find a mac version unfortunately!

    Inherited a hard drive

If you've not thrown it away yet it might be still under warranty. http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/support/warranty_%26_returns_assistance I've returned a couple of drives over the years and got brand new replacements.
