Just had a very pretty and small tortoisehell cat pitch up at my door. Had a big feed and got wormed (just in case) and went off into my garden. Very tame, young, affectionate but seemingly lost. My shed and a bed in there is available ... I'll be interested to see if it's still around tomorrow...

At this time of year the birds hide away to shed their plumage. I keep chickens and they're doing the same thing. They moult and shed their feathers in order to cope through the winter and they hide away in hedges and safe places to do so, as they are very vulnerable as this time. My chickens...

Looks lovely, doesn't it? Not! Got a leaflet through the door. Why would you go to somewhere so expensive? And, come on .. there's an established place across the road. Don't imagine that they're worrying too much ... lol!

I wasn't born here. Came when my parents took a business on in town in 1966. I went away to school in 1967 and came home in 1972 ... and never wanted to go away again. My daughter was born here, so I guess I was nurtured here (and there) but I have more roots here than I can shake a stick at.

And they had a bloke squirting weedkiller around the bases of the lamposts and bollards on Newport Road a couple of weeks ago ...

A bit late, but Robert died earlier this year (2012) or late last year. A lot of Stafford people went to his funeral ...

Bob Bell was never a Stafford licensee - although he thought that he was. He was a barman at the Stafford Arms after he worked his magic at the Eagle - where he was also a barman, although he thought that he was the licensee there too.
