    Munch & Slurp.

Couldn't find a dedicated thread for the cafe at the end of Gaolgate street - went in for breakfast, pretty decent for the price (and probably the best eggs royal I've seen) - really friendly and good selection of things for lunches - will return. Even if it has got a slightly off putting name

    Old St. Leonards school building.

Now the school population had moved to the Kingston Center the listed 1910 building is empty - I've not seen anyone waking around, no for sale signs have appeared and there's been nothing I've seen on planning portal so does anyone have (credible) information on its future use?

    History of the Showground.

We were having a discussion at breakfast about the history of the County Showground and then we were surprised to find the only information on its history we could find was about bands that had played at Bingley Hall in its heyday. Does anyone here know what was there before the showground?

    Builder recommendations.

We're looking at getting some work done to the back of the house - not an extension so much as but knocking down an internal wall and adding French doors to a space. Any recommendations for local builders?

Looks like there's a new attempt at a tapas restaurant in the corner of St. Mary's Mews. It looked pretty far from opening when we were having a nosy today.

    Early bird breakfasts.

Apart from the Greengate St. McDonalds - which opens at 6am, where else (if any where) is open for a hot takeaway breakfast at that time in the morning? (If I'm going to the studio in Nottingham I'm typically on the 6:28 train to Stoke)

    Free! Grapes

This is probably about half of them, but my arms got tired. They are mostly ripe and I have enough grape jams / jellies / chutneys / dissapointing home made wine to last me for ever. If they are of interest to anyone for a grape based project please drop me a line.
