Stafford shops opening - Turning into a boom town?

The handles for the return flight may be optional!!! 😂

Local boy not in the photograph

Went to see Kelly Jones (Stereophonics) at Birmingham Town Hall last night and everyone was handed little plastic bags and told they had to put their phones in them. The stewards were quite insistent that all phones had to be kept in the bags throughout the concert and told people off if they...

    What's for dinner/tea?

It's Meat the Greeks near the "Brewery Quarter". It's only a small informal place but great quality, reasonable prices and great customer service. Would recommend.

    What's for dinner/tea?

Meant to post this the other day. The International shop in Mill Street where I buy my warm samosas from is doing takeaway curry lunch boxes. They'd run out of dumplings by the time I went in so they gave me vegetable curry as a side to my lamb curry. Limited choice but nonetheless good sized...

    What's for dinner/tea?

Had a lovely Greek meal last night in Cheltenham after the races. And unfortunately I couldn't have a full pudding due to my diabetes but I had a taste of my friend's Portokalopita. It was delicious but she was too tight to let me have more than two tiny spoonfuls 😂

    What's for dinner/tea?

I've just bought a tub of Kimchi from Tesco and had some in a Bavarian ham sandwich. I've no idea if the Kimchi tastes authentic or not but it was a pretty good sandwich.

Mundane facts about your day: Part Deux.

Just met a load of 10-15 gobby, arrogant blue noses on my tube from Euston Square to Paddington in readiness for United's annual trip to Wembley tomorrow. When they realised they were on the wrong tube I kindly directed them to change at Edgware Road then told them to catch an anti clockwise...

    Cars.

On a similar note I got an email to say that my insurance had run out from Direct Line whilst I was driving to Tewkesbury last weekend. The reason my old policy ran out was because Direct Line don't give you the cheapest option on their own renewal quote and it's always cheaper to get a new...

Talk to me about solar panels.

I wonder if they'd actually do anything if you didn't reply? And what would they do if they couldn't find a body because you're on the other side (of the water I mean)?

    Mudgie's Bar.

Wetherspoons hotels are usually clean, air conditioned and comfortable and in central locations. I've stayed in Shrewsbury, Birmingham, Henley, Andover and now Tewkesbury. The only disconcerting thing I've found strange is coming down for breakfast and there's the usual Spoons pissheads having...

    Today I Heard.....

Over breakfast I overheard two couples discussing horseracing and they seemed quite knowledgeable until I heard them talking about I am Maximus, yesterday's National winner. It went something like this "Well if he wins more than one National his stud fees will increase and there'll be lots of...

    Mudgie's Bar.

I can thoroughly recommend a crawl around the Tewkesbury pubs. Good real ales in all of the ones we visited and friendly, chatty yokels. In particular I would recommend the Berkeley Arms, the Black Bear and the Cross House tavern. We stayed in the Wetherspoons which was comfortable and...

    Today I saw...

I think that the black and white timbered building that you are referring to is actually the record shop which is next door but one to the Berkeley Arms. Phew, another thread saved from being derailed into pub talk 😂😂😂

Mundane facts about your day: Part Deux.

I know they spell things a little differently down here in Tewkesbury as in the pub sign but the ingredients of the second pie down sound a bit dodgy 😂
