Hi all....
All in all, this is my story in short:
I moved into a house in Stafford (Beaconside) with a work colleague, he advised me I was on the tenancy agreement of which, I eventually found out I wasn't. The landlord saw me enter the property and come to the conclusion that my housemate was "subletting" and therefore evicted us with 1 week to get out. I know that this is illegal but my housemate was determined to move out. We had been having arguments previously and I had a feeling this contributed towards the situation. In the end, my housemate said to me that he was going to take the key off me under any means necessary, giving me no leg to stand on to stay at the property. Stafford Borough Council have also said no to helping me twice! - My argument was that "I pay my council tax for you to help the local community and whenever I ask for help, you basically show me the door" - They weren't happy with that comment, but it was the truth.
My housemate and I no longer speak but I had a feeling he has done me over big time. I was paying £570 per month for a 2 bedroom house and he did the same amount for the bills, I always had an "inkling" that the bills didn't equate to anywhere near the same amount, but in so, left him to it.
I'm in a very sticky situation, I know, but I am so desperate to get a home. I would literally give anything for a home at the moment as I am currently sleeping on the floor at my work on and to be honest, I've had enough of the floor!
I cannot pay any money until Friday 27th July 2012 but I am very desperate for a home. I can afford this property easily and I am asking that you allow me to move in as soon as possible and I pay you the money on Friday 27th July. I can show you my work contract and also my bank statements to show that I get paid and can afford it, I will even give you my line managers number to show that I am in work. (I work 37.5hrs a week so can easily afford this. I am also looking for long term.

Your 'mate' was shafting you, my 3 bed house costs less than £350 a month for all bills including running 4 PCs pretty much 24/7. Afraid I can't help with the place to stay though.

Aah right, oh well, I don't want to go through the letting agents as they charge ridiculous charges

Don't see many private landlords lately TBH, you'll likely be looking at people using the rent a room scheme rather than actual flats.

The uni has finished & There are rooms to let being advertised about the place at the moment, possibly not ideal but it may be a good interim option whilst your looking for a decent flat. I've noticed one on friars terrace advertising rooms with en-suite I think you'll get the number from the property, so it might be worth having a scout around the local area.

I'm sure someone on the forum was looking for a house share recently but can't remember who, they might be worth a try.

Also worth a try are businesses that specialise in property guardianship such as Camelot, I don't know if these operate in this area but are ideal solution for someone in your situation.

Also try shelter charity they might be able to help.

Good luck and I hope you get sorted soon.

Thanks all for your support...

I'm okay for a roof at the moment, a little bit tired of everything that's going on but hey, sh*t happens doesn't it!
