Posting on behalf of the other half, ironically we tried selling a year ago and it was the first post I ever made on Stafford Forum! Luckily we decided to keep it and I decided to stay and chat!

1986 Yamaha FZR 400 Genesis Great Project
I brought the bike in 2010 from my uncle who used it daily, it had lost compression in cylinder one, rather than scrapping it I took it as a project.
I’ve since rebuilt the top end and it has great compression, new petrol tank, new battery, new head gasket, valve oil seals and good breaks and tyres.
Bike starts and runs but wont idle, sometimes it idles others it doesn’t – need investigation, selling due to lack of time, all it needs is a little tlc and would make a great road or race bike.
Would make an ideal winter/ street fighter bike.
