On 23rd May, Amerton Railway will be hosting a book signing event for the ‘Staffordshire & Uttoxeter Railway’ by Allan Baker & Mike Fell in the former Chartley & Stowe Waiting Room now located at Amerton. This coincides with the Railway’s 25th Anniversary and we will be holding a commemoration of the ‘Cutting the First Sod’ ceremony in 1990 when the Railway started to build on a ‘greenfield’ site next to Amerton Farm. There will be a display of S&U and Amerton Railway artefacts and photographs and the Running Shed and Workshops will be open for ‘Behind the Scenes’ Tours. Bagnall ‘Isabel’ and Hunslet Wren ‘Jennie’ will be operating passenger and goods trains throughout the day

Surely you could parachute in..?

I know already that joke:

And while hurtling down to earth as the parachute does not open, the paratroopers complain:
"I bet the folding bike does not work either" :xd:

Ps. I should look for that Perishers cartoon. Its briliant.....
