Free! 2x Male Rats for Rehoming

StaffordMad

A few posts under my belt
I am looking for a new home for 2 incredibly friendly male rats (both from the same litter) who are just over 6 months old.

They came from an experienced breeder (rather than a pet shop) where they were handled daily, so they are both ridiculously tame. Neither rat has ever bitten anybody, and both enjoy time out of the cage playing with people and surprisingly, even the with the dog.

When in the cage they enjoy lots of sleeping (on top of one another), chasing each other around the cage, play-fighting, climbing the bars and searching for food.

I am ideally looking for somebody who has had rats before or possibly someone who has male (or neutered female) rats at the moment and wants to introduce them to one another. They have shared a cage with a friends rats whilst I have been on holiday, and all of them got on really well together.

They must go as a pair, as I would not be willing to split them up as rats are happier in pairs.

They both enjoy a small cube of cheddar cheese each night and will eat all sorts in addition to their standard rat food.

The rats themselves are FREE to a good home (along with their food) as long as their new owner is prepared to buy their current cage, toys, travel carrier and hospital cage etc separately.

If you would just like the rats on their own then I will be making a nominal charge of £10 purely to discourage reptile owners who have been known to collect 'free' rodents from Pre-Loved etc, solely to be used as snake food.

It would be nice if the new owner were to keep in touch and send the occasional e-mail and/or picture letting me know how they are getting on. These two really are a friendly, intelligent and playful little pair, so I want to ensure they go to a good home as I will miss them terribly.

Unfortunately due to working 12 hours shifts and completing a part time degree, I am struggling to give them the time and attention they deserve. Although they appear quite content with their own company, I know that they would much prefer being with somebody who could allow them out of their cage every day.

Pictures of the rats, cage, toys, travel carrier and hospital cage to follow at some point tomorrow, but for those who are familiar with rats, the cage is a 'Ferplast Jenny' which can hold 5/6 rats and costs £100+ new. With the two other cages, there is easily £150+ worth of stuff.

I am asking for £60 for all the cages, toys and any leftover food.

Please PM me if you are interested.
