A few posts under my belt
Some of you may probably be aware of this already, I don't want to enter a debate on here about it but its this Sunday at 11am.
Reasons below from the organiser, much more detail and heated debate on the Facebook group.
I am calling this event ‘Save Doxey Marshes From The Bullet’ because that is the shape of the piece of land that that the new three pitch, floodlit, carpark supported Rugby Club is going to be on, and that bullet shaped piece of land is going to be invading one of our most beautiful nature sanctuaries.
There are so many reasons to oppose this development; it is going to affect the flood plain and there are already significant problems in that area, it is going to affec...t the very well established and increasingly diverse wildlife and it is undoubtedly going to cause nasty noise and light pollution in the area. However the most important reason is that this development it is part of the slow rot that is setting in all around Stafford as things we need for our general wellbeing are taken from us.
Please join me and other like minded people on Sunday 5th July at 11am. We are going to meet at the Doxey Road entrance onto the Isabel Trail and we are going to walk together along the Isabel Trail to show our opposition.
I am asking people to make banners depicting the valuable wildlife of Doxey Marshes, not least of all our latest inhabitant the Little Egret. Please share this event with anyone and everyone and come along with family, friends and dogs and lets the show these developers just how many people are opposed to this Rugby Club bullet.
