hi all first of all i am good with a pc so not a newbie but i have a problem
my pc
q6600
gigabyte motherboard
4g ram corsair dominator
corsair 650tx psu
san disk128 ssd which is c drive
samsung 1tb drive for games and media etc
and i have another ssd a san disk ultra 2 ad it a while it was connected to the pc before and worked fine as it still does
now when i connect this drive to the pc the pc shuts of completely like there is a lack of power which was my first thought psu but then if i boot it again it doesnt crash but starts diagnostics then restarts agaion and again
now if i disconnect the 1tb drive and swap it for the ultra 2 ssd they boot up fine so it cant be the drives because they all work so ???
i have a friend that is an engineer for air bus he knows his stuff he says i need to re-image windows????? to rule out software problems
i dont get it surely u should be able to add a ssd to a pc without having to re-image
isnt that basically what hot swapping is ????
thanks for any help
