If you would like to send me an Adobe Acrobat document. I will bookmark it for you
and send it back to you. Years of experience doing this and lots of time on me hands,
feel free.

presumably he means split it down into chapters so that the tabs on the left allow you to jump to specific places. its something I do a lot of at work for technical specification documents (usually 500+ pages) so i can find the bits relevant to me quickly.

Its actually a damn useful thing to do if you need to quickly jump about large documents without having to remember page numbers or scroll for hours on end.

Ecker - do you have a lot of free time on your hand because you're unemployed? If so I would employ these acrobat skills and use them to your advantage - no everyone is lucky enough to have a copy of acrobat pro, let alone know how to use it.

Personally nothing but I too am a long time Acrobat Pro user, and because I know the documents and their general layouts and exactly what I need to spot I can do it very quickly.

I don't think you could quote a job price because you might get a 50 page document with 20 book marks or one with 50 or you might get a 500 page document with 10 bookmarks or as is often the case with me somewhere in the region of 30. You might need 100.

Definitely a by-the-hour kinda job.

Book Marking is the process of producing index like entries with "go to" links to the left of
the document content.

It greatly improves the readability of a document and as Shoes so rightly points out offers
a method of taking you where you want to be in the content without having to scroll up and
down all the while.

The document structure is further improved by indenting sub headings so that the flow is
apparent.

And, yes Shoes, I am unemployed...Boohoo!!

Sorry to hear that mate :(

For those not in the know, here's one I made earlier - column to the left of the main frame contains 'bookmarks'
