Went to Aldi in Stone today. Never ever venture anywhere towards the south of Stafford (Lichfield Road in particular ) because of the traffic so haven't been to Aldi Stafford south yet and was looking forward to Aldi Stafford North :). I found today though that it's not as good as Lidl for me because I don't buy own brand products, and I find Lidl has more branded suff, although none are guaranteed to be in. I also boycott Palm Oil because of the forest destructon in Indonesia that is causing Orang Utan's to be decimated in the wild. Have to say, Aldi seem to put palm oil in almost every cake/biscuit/bread type product I looked at, so I only really bought fruit and veg. Bit disappointed if I'm honest. Fair play to them for actually being honest and not just saying vegetable oil, but I'd need to reduce my Orang Utan sensitivites if I am to shop there again, which I doubt will happen.........my sensitivities I mean!!

Yes I know, shopping with me is a bundle of fun!! Every label examined to make sure i's not got any products on my boycott list, or from a manufacturer I'm boycotting i.e Nestle!!! And we're vegetarian too :)

Just before Weeping Cross, I think I noticed it because all the wadding was hanging off.
Think that's the 'temporary' EE one that seems to have been there years now . Can't remember when the noisy eyesore was plonked there . The wadding is quite often blown off and lying across the road.Thought they were replacing it with the permanent one erected further along, but notices on that say Vodaphone.

Not having been to Aldi before, I didn't realise that the products available change weekly. Found some nice things the first week , and disappointed they aren't available since. Walked down tonight especially for more of their frozen sprouts, as I'd just finished the nice ones we'd bought the other week (Normally force a few sprouts down on the odd occassion , but these were more-ish). Not even a label on the veg freezers for sprouts today. I'll know in future to go back down that same week and stock up on things I like, before they disappear!

I stopped being snotty about food and supermarkets after spending a crappy summer packing various frozen vegetables:- same supplier into different retailer bags with different prices. I don''t think it has changed much..

It's not

Which means listeria isn't prejudicial between Aldi and Waitrose
