Many years ago i was returning from town to Wildwood after a most refreshing tour of the town, to find the 'pedestrian' sign on the bifurcated 'cycle lane'/'pedestrian lane' -
ie

- replete with a sombrero and maracas.

You will have to paint the sombrero and maracas on to the image above yourself.

Have you done that? Now...I don't think i have laughed so heartily from that day to this - it was an addition so inspired that i would still dearly love to personally congratulate the chef. You can just about make it out still but it has faded most grievously.

The same artist also had the above with a dog on a lead, and another one which is too dim for for this dimwit's recall, but the 'Mariachi Pedestrian' goes down in my personal history as an absolute triumph of urban art. :)

I've noticed that the Litter Vortex is currently being remodelled, perhaps as a result of wind tunnel tests.

The litter bin was removed some time ago and now the seats and block-paving have gone. When last observed, the area was a fenced-off pile of rubble.

The Litter Vortex appears to be being tarmaced - apparently, as a result of some claims over people tripping on the brick paviors. That area belongs to the Gaolgate Place landlords, rather than the Council, apparently.
