Another one gone - Shops closing in Stafford

I'm informed The Works will actually be closing at some point in August

I wasn't tempted by anything in there today.

I've got my eye on 'Dial M for Murdoch' but reckon they'll need to knock a few more pounds off it first, especially as I'm currently reading the copy in the Library.

I thought Staffordshire Place and the revamped Civic were sorting the restaurant problems? Not seen any movement on that front though for ages now.

Never heard about resturants on either of those sites especially on staffs place, that peed about so much any interest would likely have waivered and I think isn't the library taking up 2 units. Civic I do not think is even at the planning stage yet and looks like could be the last thing to be done as part the new development. Last I heard there was an issue with ownership which would be odd

The artistic impressions show a bustling Staffordshire Place (day and night), which I fully support. However, this is unlikely to happen if the ground floor space is used as a library which will only be opened during the day. Hence, why I would prefer SCC to use the ground floor space for there original intended use; retail and bar.

As I have stated on a previous post, when the Riverside development is built this area will be the new retail / leisure hub in Stafford. It will be a huge own goal if SCC let prime retail space for a library.

Found out today G T Auto Electrical closed on the 30th June.

Went to buy some bulbs for my car and found they are gone. And all the place that sell bulbs that I can think of are 2 or 3 times more expensive.

Heard today that The Fashion Factory is closing in a few weeks, not sure how reliable the source is though - we shall see.
