Any info on a woman strangled in the sixties in Stafford ?

Nobody has said anything bad, they just want to know if they are related. Others helped fill in blanks, trying to help her achieve her goal. The easiest way to stop discussion on here would be to contact the person who started the thread and help them see if a relationship exists.

100% correct.

If this was a current case whereby the outcome of the court proceedings/coroner's report etc could have been affected (which we've encountered many times on here) then I'd be able to see why it would be a good idea for it to put a stop to it.

I'm sorry about what happened to your relative, Wafer2012, but present/history/future gets documented. As we've found out through the course of the thread, these happenings are available to be found at other sources.

A tragic family happening. And it might have been 40 yrs ago but maybe I wasn't around that long ago to suppress it before!

Not talking about it doesn't change what happened, and nobody is forced to read this. I don't want to sound horrible but you can't stop discussion unless it is illegal. This isn't, and all the information given has been factual to the best of my knowledge.

I have only just noticed this previous information search. I was born at The Greyhound Pub . My grandmother was the licensee until her death in 1953. Next door was the funeral directors. The Emery Family have had a business at the premises for many years and are still in existence. The Emery family were and are a fine family. I knew the two sons who were contemporaries . Mrs Emery was sadly killed by a prison officer. I can well understand that the family feel very sensitive about the loss of their mother in such tragic circumstances. Why were you interested n this matter ?

Setting as the thread is four years old and the OP hasn't been on here in nearly four years you are unlikely to get an answer, I would venture.

Or maybe the original post has a clue, if you read it.

I am looking at my ancestry and think this woman was a distant relative .

Indeed - it was actually Wafer2012 someone else* that was the relative, Bonny was a friend of hers.

They have the info they were looking for so i very much doubt either will be back.

In the interests of full disclosure, if you've gone back a page or two, i investigated this on behalf of the OP in my own time, and found the asked for info. I have transcribed all of the contemporary records and forwarded them. The OP was an intermediary for a relative of one of those involved in the case.

I was asked not to make my findings publicly available, in respect of the sensibilities of remaining family members. I thought that was a reasonable request, so i didn't.

As far as i know, this is still stuff you'd need to go to a library for, but it's not like it's not in the public domain.
