you could use a wifi SD card?I was waiting to hear how you got on, db. I lust after an ipad. But I don't know if I've just had my head turned by a good looking stranger. How do you get on using the touch screen as a keyboard for emails etc? I know it doesn't have Flash but I am so clueless, I don't know upon which bits of my life that would impact - can you access Flickr? I also know that there is no SD card slot, which really irritates me. I recognise that they are doing this to ringfence profit so that people can't just bung in extra memory. But I would want to upload pictures from my camera's SD. Apple make an SD Reader connection but it is extremely badly reviewed.
I shall keep an eye on this thread and read your experiences before I commit the credit card!

they're a bit expensive, but it means you could upload all your pics to the cloud, or any device that supports wifi (i.e. anything), without having to faff about with cables..
failing that, just do what most people do these days and use dropbox - that way, all your files (not just photos, any documents) will be available on all your devices it works with ipod, iphone, ipad, android phones & tablets, windows, mac os x, linux - basically, everthing.. it's a right touch, and has made my life so much easier since i started using it a few years ago..
i don't use flickr, so can't really comment on that, but i've just checked and:
1) there is a proper flickr app, so i don't see why it wouldn't work
2) the flickr website appears to work fine
so i guess you'd be fine in the regard!
the lack of SD slot really doesn't bother me.. i mean, it's not you're going to carry it around with you to listen to music from, as you would with an ipod, so i don't see how you're going to fill up 32GB (assuming you went for the middle-of-the-road model, as i did) in a hurry! even if you store a lot of high res images on, you'll do well to fill 32GB.. even so, as i say the tendency is towards storing stuff in the cloud these days anyway, and not on your local device..
