Army base contacts or car show rooms

Hi - I know this is a long shot

Trying to put finishing touches to a school fete at Parkside - 7th July

I'm after anyone who has contacts at the army base - Im trying to see if they could come down and have a stall or just turn up at the fete (the kids love that sort of thing£

Also

Seeing if anyone has any contacts at reputable car garages - we have a place where they could bring cars down to advertise them etc (if they give us a donation)

If anyone knows please inbox me - it is a successful fete - and whilst all money goes to the school people do have a fab time - confirmed we have project paintball shooting range, Staffs police, donkey rides and lots of stuff.

You could just give them a ring on (01785) 243130 - they are likely to have a Community Relations Officer, or some-such thing. I don't have any inside men since the old RAF days, but they were prepared to go to some considerable lengths to be helpful...

Back in the '90s, they used to keep the artic tractor units in this shed and were prepared to drive them all out so that we could use the whole indoor space on a Sunday in January. We even had the Mountain Rescue Team abseiling from the roof. It can be about who you know, how you approach them and what is possible at the time - and what they think they can get away with.

One of our events in there was the day before the launch of Desert Storm, and I have to say that I was surprised that it went ahead - but it did.

Got to be worth a try, though - and if you can get the Gurkha Food tent then I'll come along...

Just in case anyone else is organisaing any events - Arnold Clark said they would help - but never returned calls and when I chased them they said they couldnt help.

Gemma from Peugeot - pointless - I rang them about two weeks ago and someone promised that Gemma would ring me back - that didnt happen, she may not have got the message. I rang her back today and I was fobbed off and she told her colleague to tell me to ring her back later ... I know im after something but out of courtesy you would have thought they could take my number.

I contacted Platts who are very helpful, promised a donation and in return we will offer a full leaflet drop, as well as them having a stand at our fete. Top marks for them
