ASDA submit plans to widen access point off Lammascote Road

Cant see that, if that were to be the case there would be traffic lights 20 yards apart.

Reading the plans, it does not change the junction with Lammascote Road, it is just to create a better left turn when coming out of the car park onto the service road.

Yep that's how I read it - "Internal junction alterations"

Blimey....perhaps they should take a leaf out of the recent McDonalds application for the Hough and just provide some random numbers for a completely different site....

I dont get why this would be refused. Then I read the report, well it would mean an increase in traffic so maybe it was fairly refused.

There isn’t going to be any increased traffic leaving the site it just means that there it will be more evenly split between that access point and that of the main entrance exit.

In the McDonalds case they didn’t take into account the fact that upon leaving the Hough Retail Park it’s a left hand turn only route only. I just think they seem to make things up a little to suit them !! (no surprises there)...

I would imagine it comes down to increasing the amount of traffic that will use that entrance and that it has a pedestrian crossing on it.
