Afternoon!

Thoughts have started to wonder towards the long weekend ahead. Just enquiring what everyone else is up to in the hope you may inspire an interesting event or place to visit – especially on Saturday.

As a side note, it is never very easy to find something to do when you’re at a loose end. I think there is a market potential for a much better site to find out what’s going on.

There is alleged to be a Saxon re-enactment affair at Tamworth Castle..

I think that's mainly on the Sunday, though.

There is a beer festival going on at The Sun i believe. I'm sure it mentions live music and such to go with it. I was looking forward to going but hubby has informed me that due to our diets we will not be attending.

Which observation tends to suggest that you'll struggle to find much else, at least publicised on-line, G being both thorough and thoroughly good on the Search front.

Which observation also tends to suggest that

is probably also on the money.

(N.B. i haven't bothered looking as i have assumed that Gramaisc has, and has drawn a blank)

P.S. Tamworth Castle will host the Hoard over that weekend onwards, and it'll probably be worth going along even if you can't view the Hoard itself - my experience of 'things going on' in Tamworth like this have been pretty good.

Of course, if you're a Monday bin person, then you can have the excitement of forgetting to put them out on Friday night this time.

What sort of thing are you looking for? I'm looking around for stuff myself and will let you know if i find anything up your street.
That seems one of the better sites actually. I like how they list it from "Today" until "End Date".

I have no idea what I'm looking for, but I'll post up on this thread if I find anything of interest for anyone else.

The other half and I are off for our first ever match at Stafford Rangers tomorrow.
As a West Ham supporter, I am led to believe that the experience could be similar i.e. wins are to be cherished!!!!

Ya boo hiss, i can't go - i truly hope you are a talismanic influence speak65, there seems to be a strange reluctance to discuss the Chorley game - me included - they are playing some surprisingly attractive football. I hope you (and they) have a good game.

Marston Road is a properly proper football ground.

6 goals and a sending off = moneysworth.

A great introduction to the Boro.
Some very dodgy refereeing decisions, lots of goals as you say, - and the rain stayed off.
And I love the song after the goals.
Bit disappointed that there were no crowd chants or songs (apart from one directed at the men in black) but all in all a great day and I think we will be going again!!

Get used to bad referees at this level... Still at least my lot are 4th in the table now :)
There are plenty in the premiership.

We were talking about refereeing after the match, and why anyone would want to do it as it is such a thankless task.

I disclosed that my late dad was a grade1 ref, and that my view was that he got so much positivity from his dayjob as a firefighter, that it was maybe a ying/yang type thing, that he needed the negative response of being a referee to balance things?????
