Some of us forget the lyrics or may not even know all the lyrics, Each year we all promise to get the results we wanted, wanting to appear on TV, wanting to be better with the children, wanting to improve our minds, I thought it would be fun to see just what we all have involved to improve our next year.

I for one am going to try an be more healthy weigh foods i eat restrict my self on milk, eat more fish, train more and improve what i already have, My thinking of my body is if i can work at it to improve then maybe it should be done.

Admin edit: Amended thread title to clarify topic.

Well for one, i seriously need to cut down, if not out, my tobacco consumption.

I must also get myself organised and register for blood donation - this i dread, as i'm a huge fan of not having needles stuck in me.

I resolve to improve my health and mind by:
Stopping smoking, cooking more (rather than buying pre-prepared foods) and (therefore) eating more healthily, and to read the complete works of Anthony Trollope.

If you need some support in doing this let me know - I know I could use some!

if its any help i cut out smoking a while back, take it one step at a time, treat every day like a new day, forget the bickles, Grudges, Sadness, Pain, Fear and Regrets. Life is beautiful, live it, love it, enjoy it. live it as you enjoy it, at the end of the day its your life so make it what it is, now run free with your own destiny

I'm goin try be a nicer person. I'm certainly not Mother Theresa when it comes to being pleasant.
I should attempt to cut down on the food I really enjoy - chocolate, bread, crisps, chocolate and chocolate. I don't smoke, but find i'm enjoying a drink more n more in an evening, especially if i've had a really heavy/violent day at work. (Or a fantabulous birthday with the kids!)
I will at least try to sort this house out once and for all,it needs a bomb not a makeover!
And i'd like to wish each and every Formurite a Happy New Year, can't promise it will be,that's up to you.x

The last time i had any success in this matter, i very strictly confined myself to five cigarettes per day.

I disallowed myself from smoking in the morning at all, so my first cigarette was allowed at 12pm. I allowed myself one cigarette every two hours until 8pm, then none thereafter, thus restricting myself to five per day.

It is a recipe for rather extreme 'clock watching' - but lends itself to regimented behaviour, which in my experience is a Good Thing.

It is to this regime that i aspire as of tomorrow - if nothing else it will save me a small fortune.

Going from five to none was a Bridge Too Far last time - but i'll cross that bridge when i get to it this time. :)

I am going to try not to be such a miserable, cantankerous, cynical old git and will try not to wind Henryscat up so much!

I stopped about 7 years ago.I achieved the impossible by using the fact that the cravings become less frequent and of a shorter duration as time goes by.Divertion tatics for me were sipping ice cold water. So when the cravings came I had to go and fetch my drink from fridge or water cooler giving my will power time to recover and the cravings subside.

Any way Good luck

As well as making a resolution to get fitter & healthier this year and lose lots of weight (yet again, did it last year and then piled it all back on again! ) I also want to be a nicer person at home, instead of snapping at the smallest thing.

It's 1.30pm and I've lasted well so far - made a bit easier with hubby being out all day at footie and son only just emerged from his bedroom :D

I put an ashtray next to my pillow, woke up and it smelt rank! Stopped fags that day, was 9 years ago this very morning. Took up alcoholism instead....

Until I spotted this thread, I hadn't even thought about new years resolutions - although I strive to add to the 5 successful cases of stopping / reducing people's smoking habits through the use of e-cigs. I've got 5 people on them, 3 of which don't smoke regular cigarettes at all now, and 2 which only smoke a few a day compared to the 30+ they used to smoke.

This reminds me.... I must find out how Andreas Rex is getting on with it.

Anyways... hope you all have success with your resolutions, whatever they be. Good luck to you all. :)

Hmm, i seem to be doing a similar thing but with hula hoops - your way sounds better if i'm to keep morbid obesity at bay.

Any way Good luck
Thanks :)
