Hurrah!

I was getting seriously worried that we might have to endure 2018 without any form of disruption there.

Lots of traffic on Baswich Lane does no one understand "ROAD CLOSED" ??????

Stood on the canal bridge for 10 mins traffic was turning back constantly in both directions!

The stupidity of the general public can never be overestimated.

Probably a lot is down to SCC's poor use of signage! There's been a number of 'Road Ahead Closed' signs on Baswich Lane which actually refer to St Thomas Lane! They need to invest in better signage with so many road works / closures in one area.

Actually, the problem could be solved easily if they employed people who had some common sense.

Guess SCC had to finally fix the surface on the Bridge ahead of next week's Rickshaw Callange, as its passing through Stafford along Baswich Lane.
Imagine the Headlines if wheels came off whilst crossing the bridge!

"Wheels come off at SCC Highways Department!"

Has a ring of authenticity to it, don't you think?

Gladman Proposed Development off the Cannock Rd at Acton Hill. via Clr Edgeller

Highways was against this application but after they received the Traffic Assessment they changed their minds and are now in agreement of the development, with that in mind I called a meeting of all Councillors involved.
Myself, Cllr. J Barron Cllr. R Barron Cllr. J Francis and two councillors from South Staffs. Cllr. L Bates Cllr. D Williams.
We met with the Planners this morning to no avail. They firmly believe it will not cause a Highway problem because they believe that this development will only generate 45 extra cars at peak times. Along with everyone else I find this hard to believe, knowing the grid lock in place at peak times.

The two Councillors from South Staffs are now organising a meeting with their Planners to see what if anything can be done.
We are told it will go to Committee on the 19th Dec. but that could change so is not set in stone.

Kind regards Ann

I know I'm being thick but which one is the Gladman development?
