Enjoying a drop of red.
SSC have unanimously agreed to build out from the Villages and not in from their borders.
So that'll mean an imminent expansion of Acton Trussell including a physical joining with Bednall, Penkridge and Wildwood will be on the cards soon then.

A win all round.

Merry Christmas.

What about Teddesley Hay & Brocton? Planning application already in for a northward expansion of Penkridge towards Dunston.

Can't see the good folk of Brocton agreeing to any form of encroachment from Yokelsville. Bad enough having to mix it with the Milford lot!

Great news - good job it was South Staffs Council deciding on this one. I think it would have been different if it was Stafford BC.

Both authorities would have refused this scheme, however Sstaffs have stronger reasons to do so.

Currently both authorities can demonstrate a 5 yr housing land supply, have an adopted local plan and a well established settlement strategy. As such, I'm surprised gladmans submitted an application at this time - maybe the option agreement with the landowner meant they had too.

Gladman's are a very successful and well known speculative land buyers / promoters. They employ a team of people to identify future development opportunities.

David Gladman is a self made millionaire.

SStaffs have categorised their settlements into 4 tiers. The highst tier settlements will take the bulk of future development.

The higher tier settlements include Penkridge, Codsall, Huntington and Featherstone.

Chief Inspector Gemma Ward Stafford Local Policing Team Commander as spoken to the Neighbourhood Team and measures are being put in place due to the number of incidents in the area. She also said she wants to channel the willingness of residents to help with preserving a safe, crime free neighbourhood, but in the right way that doesn't put anyone at risk.

Cllr AE has asked her if she can have a Police presence at the Neighbourhood Watch meeting on the 18th January 7.00pm Leasowes school, everyone is invited.

Another car stolen on Saxonfields last night and garages broken into on Tixall Mews many items stolen along with a classic car. There will be extra police presence tonight.
I have spoken to the police and the PCC asking for mobile surveillance cameras to be fitted in the area.
The cars that are being stolen are by the Internet connection (cars with no key needed) one person stands outside the door while the other starts the car. I suggest that people with that sort of car put a car lock on their steering wheel it might deter them. (Cllr AE)

Investing in this is a good idea. They do work.

Keeping the keys in a Faraday cage I.e.metal tin is also good at stopping them getting hold of the signal that starts the car. Keyless entry and start although convient is not as secure as the car manufacturers have you believe.
Edit. Didn't see the link above but that device will do the same as the tin

Tin for home, pouch for when out and about.

That and a loaded shotgun do the trick.
