The next Bednall Books and Bacon Baps Coffee Morning is on

Sat 3rd March from 10.00am to 12.00.

It's the usual format, hundreds of excellent quality books all £1 each including hardbacks and specialty books.

Bacon Baps, gorgeous home made cakes, tea and coffee all served in our very friendly church.

Do come along, you will be made most welcome.

**For anyone interested in either First or Second World War, we've had a rather large selection of very good quality books donated which we expect to sell out of very quickly.

We've decided to go ahead with this.
We know that people probably won't come from far afield but local people may want to pop along for a gorgeous warming hot chocolate, some cake or a bacon bap.

We've got about 1000 books, most very good condition, some new and unread. All adult books £1 each including hardbacks. Children's books are pay what you want.

If anyone is interested in war history we've got two boxes on this subject

This is one side of the church, the other side has just as many books.

The cakes are made, the bacon is cooking and the roads are passable.

Looking forward to seeing some of you later in Bednall Church for our Books and Bacon Baps Coffee Morning from 10.00am -12.00.

I made it there for my breakfast in the end, although I made the mistake of taking the first turn, rather than the rather more open second one. Even so, it was a remarkable community effort to open it all up again, especially when the primary tools available were pitchforks...

The church was looking rather picturesque.

I did find a copy of this...

Alas missed it, OH not happy about the roads. I hope there is going to be another one as we have books for it.

The booksale went very well considering the weather, more people turned up than we expected.

Lovely to see @Gramaisc

We will be having another one in a month or so @Noah , we will probably do about three or four a year.

I ventured out into Yokelsville this morning and obtained a bacon bap, two cups of tea, a slice (large) of @Carole's cake, three books and an encounter with @Noah in physical form.

So @Carole, @Gramaisc & Noah are talking in a quiet country church. In the churchyard straw children are dancing around a maypole, a straw Humpty Dumpty watches them from across the road, at the entrance to the village a straw officer lays a wreath at a war memorial and more scarecrows are appearing all over the village ...

And the cakes were very good.
