There is a possibility of an incursion into these premises soon. It's not fully under my control, but I may issue a warning if I can. I will, however, definitely report on the situation.

Called in last night for their monthly steak night. Unfortunately they had not reserved our table although we had booked before Christmas but this was swiftly sorted and a table was found.
Gaffer brought a large slate with examples of the various steaks on offer to our bar table prior to ordering, nice touch I thought.
16oz rump & 12oz rib eye served with proper onion rings, grilled tomato, mushrooms. Side dishes of peas, chips and dauphinoise potatoes £10.95 each and reasonably priced wine to boot.
Good steaks cooked as we liked them, good service, we'll definitely be back.
As we were finishing the waitress that originally greeted us came to our table to apologise again for the booking problem. It appears that customer service here is as mportant to them as the food.
Surf & turf evenings on the way, we are told with proper fish options not half a dozen frozen scampis.

Sounds good, was it very busy last night? and do they do fillet?.........
It was indeed busy but with only about 30 (ish) seats they cope easily. All the favourites, fillet, sirloin, rump, T-bone, rib eye and gammon.
Booking for monthly steak nights essential.

Hi all, I know how you all love a bargain, and I know I only posted for the first time today, and it was about the same subject as this.....but I just received an e-mail from The Bell, it was in my spam folder though, offering me a Complimentary Meal, as I had filled in a slip when I ate there a week or so ago....from the looks of it, it will probably be the cheapest meal free as it says for a table of two or more.....I dont know whether you can just subscribe to this or you have to fill a slip in like I did.....if I find out any more information I will of course let you all know.......CK

Their dominoes night food was bostin' last week. Beef sarnies off a joint, ham similar and a couple of platters of belly pork.
Do they still do the fortnightly steak nights?

Nomnomnom

( 2 menus alternate weekly )

Went again Thursday had chicken and leek pie in white wine sauce, sadly no room for pud, I'm noticing this now and I'm not happy it went from 3 courses to two and now one I'll be like my mother soon I'll be on starters then it's really downhill to bar snacks then yogurts

Does anyone know what is happening at the Bell now that Ally & Richard have moved to the Penkridge Star?

I went about a month ago

They had the same menu

Same beer range

But the new folk looked a bit flustered

As you might expect following such a hard working vfm team

One of the waitresses was less impressed and said she was leaving for a cock inn

Change - the old folk dunna like it

It's been taken over by a previous employee . I have a friend who works there . They are also doing a new menu soon, from what I've heard but still carrying on the popular dishes
