I even used tesco vouchers, so only paid 25%, and still didn't rate it. Was only slightly better than spoons.

Now I see why our one and only visit there was a bad experience !

If a business has a 'bad day', what incentive is there for the customer to return? If this is their first visit how do they know if it really is a bad day? It could be how it always is, or it could even be a good day and it is usually terrible! We don't eat out often, so when we can we either choose somewhere new or somewhere we like. The idea of returning to a place that had poor service and bland food never enters my head.

i know "horses for courses", an' all that, but i'm surprised at how many people seem to dislike the place.. me & ms. db go now and again and really enjoy it every time! we'd often go there instead of pizza express, because it's a similar vibe but the wine is cheaper (and more choice than just pizza, obv's).. plus the service has always been excellent..

we go there every year for my mum's birthday as well, cos it's her favourite place to eat in town, and they'd always make us feel very welcome (despite the fact that we were a large group of people, not actually spending much money thanks to tesco vouchers)..

shame to see it go :(

We've been in about 4 times in the last 18 months (mainly because friends wanted to go there) and 3 of those occasions must have been bad days or may be I'm just full off s*** - cetanily was after eating there!!

I agree the staff are good but the food isn't up to much which is probably why there's a lack off business.

I haven't been for a few years, but when I did go I was never impressed. However I know several people that do go quite regular and say its OK. Don't think the prices are as high as they used to be either.
Anyway its a shame to see it go as its another empty building and several local people out of work.
