Big Gig At Surgery This Sunday

The Surgery has a big gig for local music on this sunday, Starts at 6pm costs £2 bands performing are:

LiViD- Massive in Stoke area, sell out The Sugarmill, underground etc.
Trial Of Origin- A Stone band, great sound, did a great set on subculture at start of the year
Able Archer- a wolvo band, kind of heavy sound but great songs.
Blue Origin- a Blues rock band from stoke, were in the finals of the Uni battle of the bands
The Waves- a acoustic stafford duo, mellow sound.
Eight Pence Chains will be providing DJ Sets throughout the whole night

Be cool if you could come and support this event, as their will not be many this cheap with so many great bands on the bill this summer in Stafford.

Very strange but I have never felt as tho i enjoyed a night out ( been countless times) there so just don't bother any more

totally just not the place to see a band in my opinion it's too small by far and its either too cold..or too hot depending on the time of year . Indeed were my fave band booked to play there i would have to be persuaded to go along ..yip i dislike the place that much

His name is Martin, think his surname is Stanyer or something similar. Not seen him play in about two years, but he's a stafford lad so guess he's in the waves! Used to look like a refugee from the darkness, although he's cut his hair now. Ran into him saturday in the swan, thats how I found out about the gig.

Oh aye. No, he's part of Able Archer. The Waves is Mike and Alan, I think.
I remember Martin when he was doing Bon Jovi covers at the open mike night in the Forester - them were the days...

Yeah, thats him! Last time I saw him was solo stuff, think we were at the albion.
Seen him at the firkin before too (still can't think of it as the forester), and a few times in joxers IIRC.

went past the Sheridan today (that's fooked ya) today and it's the time of the month - it's got the painters in (sorry ladies)

I actually remember it as the Sheridan, only for a year or so though. Then the outlaws kinda took over for a very short while, then it became the Firkin. They used to do great food in there, my first year at uni I remember going in for a breakfast sarnie at lunchtimes. Bacon, sausage, egg and black pudding, happy days

Bit unsure what will happen now Tara is running it. Certainly needs a clean up, and hopefully someone will tackle those awful toilets. Any idea who is actually in control of the place? Heard a rumour it was the people from esprei, but not positive.
