Bill Murray

A legend, but here's another reason why:

Playing in the Pebble Beach Pro-Am yesterday.

Ball on the green, sizing up his putt, someone called out "Kevin Costner made one from there."

Bill, deadpan, instantly says, "Kevin Costner also made Water World."

I love that man.

I am off to purchase Groundhog Day at lunchtime.

A triumph. Not only because it's piss funny but also because Murray makes arguably the only film where 'we' don't mind sitting through nearly two hours of Andie McDowell. For that he deserves our thanks, it could've been quite painful.

He was class in ghostbusters too. As was Dan. Ackroyd. Who says the yanks aren't funny eh??

Chevy Chase and Steve Martin too. Comic Geniuses.

and he's really good in Scrooged- all his characters are fairly similar so I wonder if he's like that in real life

Apparently he's a throughly decent chap. He once famously gatecrashed some strangers party and proceeded to do the washing up.

Yes but unlike the other three, Mr Murray has continued to make wonderful films, I can't think of that many good films the other three have made in the last 10 years ... no I'm wrong I can't think of any!

Agreed. I'm soooo pleased Gloop has provided this thread, it's just a case of which film to watch first. Going for Groundhog Day tonight.

Groundhog Day was class. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
