Bins in Talbot Road

Any idea what day they are supposed to empty the bins in Talbot Road?
I've been there a month now, and they haven't been emptied once.

Hopefully if this link works it will give you the contact details you need at the council. They are normally pretty good and from past experience (when recycling was less consistant) will post you your bin schedule etc.. a.s.a.p.

However, they come a bit unstuck if it's anything out of the norm thats causing the problem as they only have basic answers. If you still get problems after give your Borough Councillor a call, you'll be able to get their number off the same site.

It used to be Thursday, but that was a few years ago. Can you not just wait for everyone else to put theirs out?

They're out at the front permanently as the passage to the back of the house is too narrow to take a bin.

Are they out on the path, or just in your yard area? Cos binmen can be gits when they feel like it!

When the wheelie bins were first issued, the instructions were to place them 'at the curtilage' on the collection day. I had to look it up, and it seems that the curtilage is where your premises abut the highway. This may have been to be able to claim that they had not told you to place them on the footpath, thus obstructing the highway. There are, of course, places where there is no space adjacent to the highway into which bins could be placed to avoid such an obstruction ( 'open aspect', as I believe our estate agent friends term it ). I have lived in several houses where the front door has opened directly onto the road without even a footpath to obstruct. i wonder what you're supposed to do there?
