It's blue and brown bin day tomorrow (Saturday) - well it is in Baswich / Weeping Cross anyway

    And Wildwood.

I actually remembered without prompt this time, but only because i shall be working on Monday, most unusual for me, so was 'in the zone'.

Funnily enough, my first thought as i hauled my bins into position was 'I wonder if @Apricot has posted a reminder?' - my second was 'If he/she hasn't, maybe i should?'.

    Hurrah for Apricot!

I'm a she, and it seems that bins are my thing now. It could be worse.

In Ireland, our bin chaps will text you the evening before a collection, if you ask them to.

Has anyone else's bins not been emptied today? They emptied the blue bins across the street this morning, but haven't emptied any of the green bins in the area. Wondering if they finished early to watch the football!!

Is Stafford not all blue/brown one week and all green the next?

Are you actually in the town? Is it really your green bin week? Etc?

I'm just off the Wolv. Road not far from the vets.

And nope: they collect green from some streets in the area and blue from others, then the following week it's the opposite. They haven't emptied any green in the area but blue have been emptied.

I work in your area (off Wolv Rd) and I believe it was blue bin (but suppose that depends where you are)

My husband works for Biffa - no they didn't get to finish early for football!

if your bin was supposed to be collected, and it wasn't, they are usually back next day - and something would have happened like a breakdown - just leave your bin out. I don't think a large company such as Biffa would get away with not doing their job because of football

No, our bins round the side of the house are at odds with bins left on my street.

My green bin was emptied for the first time in six weeks on Monday, forgot to put it out twice. Was dreading what would be at the bottom of it with the warm spell we've had but was OK.

It's Bank Holiday on Monday, so if that's the day your bins would normally be collected, they will probably be collected tomorrow instead.

Good call. Just trekked home from the pub and all my neighbours remembered to put their bins out so I was reminded. Imagine. If I'd stayed home tonight I'd never have remembered!

Might be a bit early for some but check your Xmas bin collections.
My next recycling is on Xmas eve (would have fallen boxing day) then nowt until 9th Jan. The bottles will be overflowing!

Break the bottles when you put them in the bin. They take up a lot less room. Just make sure they're not near the top of the bin.
