Anyone know what this area is like? We're still house hunting and there is a nice one on this street- don't know this area very well

Is Cambridge Street one of the ones off Corporation Street.

If it is it's a mix of families and students, with parking problems probably (close to town, the hospital). They always seemed nice houses around there, I'd happily move into any of those streets around the allotments.

Looks directly onto the allotments, so a nice view. Fairly big places IIRC, not sure what the area is like nowadays though as its years since I lived up that way. There are a number of students in the area, but not sure if that street has that many. Always seemed a pleasent enough place, only downside I know of are round the shops in the evening, but all areas have a local mini-chav population nowadays. Doubt you'll find anywhere that won't have the local yoofs hanging around bored at night.

I live in Tithe Barn Road, the next street, nice area. As Techmonkey says, opposite allotments, nice. Get to know gardeners and you get nice fresh veg. Close to all ammenities.

yeah, you'll get that anywhere innit.. look at baswich/weeping cross.. arguably one of the quietest and more affluent areas of stafford, but has kids hanging around bodmin/yelverton park every night..

not that i'm criticising them for doing so, y'un'erstand.. there are more than a few members of this fair forum that were patrons of the very same parks not too long ago ;)

Im in Cambridge St. Its a nice road with plenty of parking because it only has houses on one side but you can park on both sides. We also have rear access to park round the back. Its pretty quiet round here, Ive never noticed any kids hanging around anywhere. & being able to walk to town & the new leisure center is a real bonus with traffic getting like it is these days.

Considerably better now that the dread "Conifer Man" has stopped setting light to cyprus trees in the area. We used to have a bit of an arson problem, but after an incarceration this relatively minor problem seems to have disappeared (fingers crossed). Nice part of town!

I live on the street, it's a fairly nice area, walking distance to town, schools, shops, gym etc.

Had a few items nicked recently from our backgarden though. :(

day or night?

if day, stick a webcam in your window. If night, stick a razor blade on your back gate. You'll either get a pic of them, or you take the severed finger down to the cops and ask them to finf the other half....

During day as the stuff was there for sure at 5.30pm when I went footy, parents went across allotment (good perk of the area) at 7pm and come 8.30pm realised it was missing. :(

Been reading up on webcams and trying to find something suitable to run on PC which is affordable and good enough quality.

This time round it was a spare set of Vauxhall alloys with a five spoke curved design (195/45/15 tyres) plus center caps in a four stud fitment most suited for use on a Corsa B or Tigra, though will fit Vec/Cav/Cally too.

Was planning on cleaning them up and putting them up for sale this weekend too, nevermind! One of those items which just sit outside due to the space they take up and aren't exactly an easy item to carry quickly either.
