Hello,

Ok when i post on here it does always seem i'm after a favour i know!

So, this time it's Plasterers, before you say anything i did have a quick search on here for past posts for plasterers and i've rang them, see below.

I've tried JasonRoberts who seems to be the man and because of this he say's he's chocker so can't fit me in.
got Matt Askey round, but for the small job i need doing i thought he was a little steep.
LPH, trying them this morning.

Job: recess round the kitchen window needs skimming ready for new window.

Any other recommendations?

regards,
michaelh

p.s rant; does anyone else hate it when you ring some and they simply say 'hello' not 'Hello, (company name) here...', though they are running a business?

i only have experience of matt askey, and he's a reasonable chap and easy to talk to imo, so if you said to him "i'll be honest, that's a bit steep, 'such-and-such' quoted me this," he will see what he can do.. or at least offer an explanation of why he might be more expensive!

the problem with that db is, Matt was the first guy to come round and i've experience with the cost of plastering having had it done a few times before in various rooms and houses
...reason why i'm not using previous plasterers before is: one was named Brain Chandllier (doin' porridge the silly fella) and the other was Andy Foxley (never turned up to do a job he said he would do)...say no more.

got BS Plastering (previously named D Steele Plastering, ummm a name change, always raises suspicion with me) coming round to quote, so we'll see...

anymore anyone?

I'd highly recommend a chap called Jakub. He's just replastered my uncles kitchen and has done a really good job, far better than alot of work I've seen by others. His numbers 07812 399058.

It's also worth bearing in mind I can plaster to a good standard myself so I know when someones doing a good job of it. I'm not saying this to get any plastering work, it's messy and I don't like the way it makes my hands feel.

Perhaps we should just draw a curtain over that - or turn a blind eye..

BS plastering, Ben quoted me £35 where as previosuly Matt Aksey had quoted me £100!

Ben is booked in for this Thursday morning (23.09.10), seems like a nice chap and i will of course report back on that there job what he did, poor english i know.

i haven't told him my first thoughts of the name BS Plastering though, BS stands for Ben Steele and not what others might think it stands for...
