Son has got a new I Phone 6 today. He can call me but I'm unable to make calls to his phone.
I can send texts and Whatsapp messages to him, but when I try to ring him from my Galaxy mini S3 I get a message "calls to this number are barred" :q:
Hubby can't ring him from his old EE Nokia either :q: He gets the message "This number cannot be contacted"

Hubby managed to ring him from the works landline ok. I have managed to ring him from the landline at home. My neighbour who has a Galaxy S4 got through to his number no problem.

He has taken his phone back into the EE shop, the bloke rang him from his mobile with no problem. The bloke checked the phone and there's no numbers on the 'reject list' .

Any ideas folks ? Been trying all day and at first thought I had pressed something accidentally on my phone . But with hubbys phone also not getting through?? Tried in various places around Stafford with mine, so not down to the weak signal at home.

Going to go into the EE shop when I get to Worcester in the morning and let them check my phone settings out , but if anyone can help with any ideas to try before then it would be much appreciated.

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
Has he ported is number to EE from another network? If so, all the features of the phone, calling out or receiving calls, text, etc can take a while to port over.

No, but the bloke from Virgin asked me if he wanted to do that and keep his old number, when I phoned to cancel his contract. He even offered me credit to do it(???) but I said no, he wanted to start from scratch with his new EE phone. The only person who had called me that morning was son, so whether the bloke put some sort of block on it out of spite I don't know, because when I mentioned I'd cancelled that one contract to bloke I was talking to yesterday it turns out the contract hadn't been cancelled after all. Yet he'd made a note of the phone call saying son had got a new phone contract with EE and was asked if he'd like to transfer his number over, but declined. Seems rather strange, but technical team insist he couldn't have done anything to block the calls.

The bloke in the Worcester EE shop checked settings on both mine and sons phones and managed to ring everyone in the shop with my phone , except sons. Tried my Sim in various phones...still same call barred message.
Virgin bloke managed to ring sons phone. Closed my original contract and opened a new one with a new Sim....still the same problem. Seems like as long as it's linked to my Virgin Media account I'm going to have the same problem .

Their technical team are supposed to be checking it out , as they reckon it's a glitch in the EE network problem, and ringing me back within 48 hrs (which is tomorrow morning).

In the mean time I can't call son and all my texts to him (and only him) are being charged for on the bill , but they are supposed to be crediting them though .

Only way I can see around it is to cancel completely and go to the EE shop and pay more each month for a new phone and contract. (Wanted to do that last Saturday and walk out of the shop with a shiny new phone. but rang hubby and... hubby being hubby was ..":blah::blah::blah: " :( )

Going to have to get it sorted for when he goes back to uni. He's more or less the only person I ring and text!

(Turns out hubbys old EE phone didn't have a problem calling it after all ,just him putting the number in wrong  )
