Can anyone recommend any good local car body specialists that would do a good job for a reasonable price? Is anyone a car body specialist?!

hello, What is it that you would like doing? We (Randles) have an onsite bodyshop in Stoke who are excellent but for smaller jobs we can do them on site at Stafford. Just depends what it is.

thanks

Bodymatters (Verulam Road) - 229162
R J Caddick (Alexandra Road) - 251568
or for a smaller "smart" repair Chipsaway (Tilcon Avenue) - 256594

Use them all - can't fault any of them. :)

Dave Smithers (next to FMS) did some bodywork repair and respraying to my mum's car when someone reversed into her passenger door - it was dented and scratched. cost about £200 to fix the dent and respray. You'd never know now! don't know if that's a reasonable but did a good job.

I'd be interested for some estimates to respray too. my car is just coming up to 4 years old and has some patches where the paint has faded, mainly on a rear door, around the bonnet and on the roof at the rear. I've been told the paintwork is out of warranty but would quite like to make it all match again. It's not massively obvious but once you notice it it's really easy to see. I keep meaning to pop in to Dave Smithers for a quote but it's difficult to get there with work. I have no idea at all how much these sorts of things should cost.

I have used Chips Away in Stafford a few times, never had a problem.

Used them for good wallops and little hiccups.

They have been very good and looked after me.

On Wheeler Dealers (love that programme) they usually say £1000 - £2000 for a respray with the lower end being for the same colour (= much easier job).

However the grease monkey usually does a lot of the prep work for the cars himself so might cost you top end of that guess I would say...
