Yes, in total we earnt over £35, which covered the £7 ground rent. Last year I got £75 on the busier days. The fair was packing up while the boot sale was on - they packed us all in quite tightly this week. Next week should be bigger beings as it's Easter weekend - in which case I will be back again with more stuff - mainly my girlfriends' as she is moving house soon.

NB: Some of my less-valuable stuff may be given away for FREE if it does not sell by 1pm. E.g. various toys like yo-yos, snap card games, badges plus various useful bits & pieces and more. This is also true of other sellers there, so ask around near kicking-out time...

I have just booted and it was huge, but full of crap. There was a surprising variety of different style crutches available and a stuffed fox. I did finally purchase an early nineteen hundreds American alarm clock with busted springs that should be fixable.

A stuffed fox? How did I miss that?!?!?! Would've been great for keeping cats off the garden :D

I noticed a larger than usual number of wine racks, and a lot of people with sealed trays of incense oil that were all the same. I purchased some troughs for the tomatoes/chillies, but ran out of money then and had to come to work :(

There was a complete stuffed and mounted fox and, on another stall, a stuffed fox's head - you really need to pay attention.

On occasions. Today it was the horse jumping thing and so the Tannoy from that swamps a lot after it starts. It recent years, though not so much this year (thankfully), there has been a meat wagon which emenates a constant 'spiel' which is probably intended to be entertaining, but is actually about as interesting as a loud drunk in a pub.*

*Oh, yes, Florence. Kings Arms quiz tonight.

I really must lever myself out of bed early enough to make an appearance at this more often...

There's usually a good selection of crow-bars available.

Two blokes had a fight there with some of the readily available crow-bars a few years ago. I thought they were larking about for the first few seconds. But they weren't...

Got absolutely nothing today. Didn't even pick up anything to look at it. Still a few crutches about. Should be on tomorrow. We'll see then.

Did quite well today, got a sink with mixer tap for £15 and 2 wooden garden planters for £18. I did find a lot less grabbed my interest today though, so were finished quickly.

A very poor, weather-affected turnout today. Nothing for me again. Not even any crutches available, should you have need of any.

yes very poor, and the burrows field one wasn't worth the 80p entry fee, I spent 40p on a few computer cables I might need one day, and 10p on a book.

Went to Eccleshall Car Boot and Market. Still quite sizeable but down on numbers on both the carboot and market side of things compared to other times. £2 probably JUST justified.

Returned with quite a bit ... including a delicious Jacket Potato! Mmmm.

Entry charges? What is the world coming to? Or is this more along the lines of a car-park charge? Just as well I go on my bike!

80p entry fee? Sod that. In fact, who charges the people to set up on the common? As its common land and everything.

I went to the Sunday one at 8am and there were a few good bits and pieces I needed. I bought a hammer drill and 15-piece bit set for £10. New, I've seen them well over £100. Bargain!
All I need now is a rather long pole or rod, preferably about 5 metres long to push a ball of string over my roof (while holding one end). I then hope the ball of string rolls down the other side, where I can then tie it to a cable and hoist it back over the other side of the roof. (Yes, I'd try roof ladders, but I have no access to any).

Why not just tie the string to a tennis ball and chuck it over from the street. As long as it gets over the ridge you can lower it down on the far side ( as long as it doesn't get stuck in the gutter ). Actually, you might be better setting the string length to reach over the ridge and launching from the back garden as any shots that fall short from the street side may strike vehicles in the street. Don't set the length such that any swing back might lead to striking a window.
