So I need a car. Anyone selling one? Looking for something Fiesta or Corsa size, 1.2 - 1.4 engine, Petrol, 4/5 years old or younger. Low mileage, FSH preferred. Ideally VW, Ford, Vauxhall or at a push Hyundai. Sorry, no Fiat's Suzuki's or French cars :D

Cheers

Got to be a contender for the most ironic post of the year.

Not really. I know what you are getting at, but unless you know the reasons for me needing one, it's probably best to keep counsel.......
Nope I'll happily post about the irony if it suits me. I don't ask you to stop your anti car/people who HAVE to drive around Stafford posts even though you don't know the reasons behind why some folk have to drive.

:)

Well at least get my views correct. I'm not anti car, I'm anti lazy people who do short unnecessary journeys in a car and then moan about the traffic.

I sit (in the driver's seat, of course) corrected.

The sort of car you're looking for is the sort of thing the smaller garages like Bank Top and Hill and Swift are likely to have in stock as they tend not to stick on the forecourt long.

Received a letter today informing me that TB2 ( Skoda Superb) has one of those devious engines that will require 'rectification'. It will be interesting to see how all this plays out. I am expecting to see the no win no fee mob climb onto this VW wagon shortly.

Be very careful before you opt to have it 'rectified'. You might end up with a much less economical, less powerful car than you had before.

Anyone who perpetrates a fraud on such a massive scale deserves to be sued to kingdom come.

Yes, I have been keeping an eye on developments, the gov have already said it is not a legal requirement, in this case, to have any remedial work carried out. So am waiting to see what the fix is.

Question is, can they be trusted to tell you the truth about any negative aspects of the fix?

I am assuming not, It looks like cars will be looked at as they need servicing. This one was done in the spring, and is on a two year service schedule, although it will need its first MOT next spring. I am hoping that info will feed back from owners, as the work starts, well before then. A before and after rolling road test might shine some light.
