Give me 5 minutes and I'll just go out and test them. ;)

Unfortunately the problem with airbags is just that. The only way to tell is from a dashboard warning light, which anyone dodgy could disable.

ok no reoccurring airbag warning light, bulb must be present in dash and must not be hidden behind black tape :-D

Somewhere, I have a garage receipt for a car I bought years ago - it had (allegedly) had a charging issue fixed.

The garage had actually just connected the charge warning light to the oil pressure switch, so that it went out when it should - almost impressive.

I brought a car. I got a Peugeot 106 1.6 petrol 54000 miles on the clock for £175. Mot till end November which it should fly through. Only problems are a loose exhaust bracket which needs tightening and some damage to rear bumper which I can replace :-D
Other than that the car is very clean has excellent paintwork work and no rust.
is in far better condition than my old punto :-D which had rust ,peeling paintwork, leaking head gasket, no bonnet pull cable, faulty airbags, heating broken, intermitant power steering, engine kept going into limp mode and the most disgusting seats ever amongst other things. And I made a profit

Sounds like a good deal, brilliant little chassis and if is a hot one as Laurie wonders it'll be an absolute hoot to drive.

They've made a handful of excellent cars over the years, but then most manufacturers have. And they're certainly not making anything that would tickle my fancy at present, even the GTi is well behind the RenaultSport equivalents. I'm not sure which finished later, the 106 GTi or 306 GTi-6, but when they were gone that was more or less it for Peugeot in terms of fun cars.

Totally agree on the chassis excellence. While the rest of their car build was questionable this they did get right but I think the 106 Rallye was the last.

Sounds like you got a good deal there Alee and hope the car comes up good for you at MOT time. Nice one...

Renault, however, has continued letting their motorsport division mess with their small cars and the results have been just better and better. The Clio Williams, 172, 182, 197, 200 and whatever the current one is known as are all absolutely superb cars, with the cup versions being better again. And the Meganes are, quite frankly, f'ing fast.
