"Friends of the Carnegie Library are excited to annouce that Chris Pittard of Portsmouth University is presenting a very special illustrated talk in November. Entitled CHARLES DICKENS' STAFFORD, This presentation will celebrate the visit of Charles Dickens to Stafford in 1850, and to help raise funds for our cause.

Set within the wonderfully atmospheric St. Chad's Church on Stafford High Street, the evening is a fundraiser for Stafford Carnegie Old Library Trust who are campaigning to save this old library just a stones throw away at the end of the street.

A minimum donation of £6 is suggested though if you feel generous then a greater donation would be welcomed and valued. For this you will experience this special talk with a complementary glass of wine or soft drink.

There will also be music provided by local musicians Jonathon Watkiss (atmospheric soundscapes) and David Barron (singer songwriter).

Start time 7pm, ending at 9pm."
