It's been in the offing for a while but an announcement has been made this morning that the council are to sell the Chetwynd Centre in order to raise money.

Worth making the point it Staffordshire County Council and not Stafford BC in this case - I wish people would be more specific when the say 'the council'

That's a shame, the old part is a beautiful building. My Dad is part of the association of ex pupils, so I've visited often, and my sister even had her wedding reception in the beautiful hall.

I also did an A level there, I don't believe it's being utilised for that any longer though.

They do - but they'll all be done and dusted by July when the school year ends.

I was thinking luxury hotel and spa with a top notch restaurant would be a good use of it.

I'd be surprised if the hall wasn't listed. Although the cloisters went I think when Tesco came, and they were a lovely part of it.
