The same Jack Kemp who allowed a giant steel hulk of a building to be passed on the edge of a nature reserve.

Must try harder

That's 6 years for you....
It's a massive improvement, just what is the councillor smoking here , it hardly looked appealing before, they only kept the front of the old hospital anyway, and the buildings around it are all relatively new builds. God help the new apartment block in the former offices directly opposite.

Everything from bamboo garden to Reynolds needs levelling tbh as they all look well past their life.

I noticed the old convenience store (Haych's?) is having work done. The old over hang has been tore down and it seems to be turning in a car showroom, PR Cars.

This area must be one of the worst 'conservation' areas in the entire world. There doesn't seem anything of interest (bar the old SGI which has survived in a limited form) to conserve.

It already looks as though most of the building has been demolished. I assume there was a row of houses/shops/pubs/whatever at some point but I cannot recall ever seeing them.

Let's not forget this 'beauty' of a building just 100 yards away from the offence is taking place. I wonder if this will need to be conserved?

Isn't that Kemp's point? You can't have a new smart looking building (that is very similar to it's previous incumbent) bringing the tone of the area up can you?

Perhaps if Chicos built a Golden Arch on the roof that would meet Kemp's expectations.

Nothing like encouraging new businesses into Stafford is there?

Yes Paul Reynolds now owns the Haych's.
