Am I right in thinking it is comedy night in Joxers tonight?

I missed last months so might have to brave the cold and venture down!

Didn't manage to get on here yesterday but just to confirm,

There was comedy last night and will be on the first Monday of the month every month, we start at nine and it's free.

Coming in December on the 3rd is our 3rd birthday xmas spectacular with:

Damion Larkin
Chris Roache
Don Barr
Sam Avery
Johnny Sorrow
Dave Dinsdale
Sean Moran
Lovdev Barpaga
Nadeem Rangzeb

Which is quite a long list so we may start this show at half eight!!

Cheers Neil,

Didn't make it down in the end last night with not knowing for definite it was on (bonfire night and all) plus it was cold and rainy so I wimped out. Hope to make the next one in December though.

What time is the last comedian usually on?

Usually the last comedian will go on around twenty to eleven, but as we run a 'newcomers' night we don't have a headliner who plays half an hour, rather we have six or seven acts who do 10-15 minutes each.

As far as i know the night at the Surgery is not running at the moment, while they are doing their relaunch/refurbishment etc, which makes us one of the only comedy events in the area!

The surgery is having a refurb? Are there still plans to turn it into a restaurant, or are they just making it look nicer?

When i walked past last week they had signs in the window saying 'Traditional English Restaurant: Coming Soon' this is the extent of my knowledge on the situation.

I thought nowadays traditional english was chicken tikka masala? Otherwise I suppose this is a bit more competition for Ashley over at the Castle Tavern, especially as they are turning the Royal Oak into something similar too. Can't remember the name offhand, but locals were given letters from the council lately with planned changes to the exterior.

Well I hope they do something about the heating in the place! if they are tturning it into a restaurant ?

Mind you it might make people eat a bit quicker!

Actually I'm not arsed , frankly really dont like the place , don't ask me why I just never feel comfy there ..and no its not a ghost thing!

When the Surgery did lunches it was really nice - even went there for a few evenings out. It made a nice change from chain pubs for something to eat (lovely Stilton and chicken baguette with curly fries).

I hope it opens up as something good - it's a lovely building with a lot of character - it could be a great asset to the town.
