If I could upload my own, I could reduce them in size first.

Don't know how difficult this would be to enable, but it'd be great.

Next to Post Reply at the bottom is Upload a File - you can do it that way.

I seem to remember Adders being a bit concerned about people using this too often due to lack of space or somesuch so might be worth waiting for the seal of approval.

So it isn't - beg pardon.

Have you tried downloading the pics to your computer, re-sizing them then uploading to an image hosting site like tinypic? Bit of a faff but a possible solution?

This is not an available option when creating an Event.

i think this is because an "event" isn't actually a "thread", hence why a lot of the formatting and upload file options are missing..

you can get round it by posting your event, which will create a thread, then go to the thread and click Edit, then More Options - this will allow you to edit it as a normal post and upload a file, etc..

bit of a faff, but it works afaik..

It'd be swell if we could edit pictures to some degree. Or, if not this, if we could upload pictures rather than just link to them.

When creating events, it's nice to include a related picture. At the moment, however, we can only put pictures in at whatever size they are somewhere else on the web.

For me this usually results in MASSIVE scary sized pictures that I think ruin my events posts. If I could upload my own, I could reduce them in size first.

Don't know how difficult this would be to enable, but it'd be great.

the forum should automatically resize pictures depending on the size of the browser window, i think.. so if you use IMG tags to include an inline image, it will shrink the image to fit within the message box.. thusly (massive image):

edit: or you could edit them, host them on your juice blog, then use the edited images inline here :)

Mmm, that massive image is not visible to me in your post, but it becomes visible to me if I quote you...

Sorry if this has already been answered, but is there a reason I can't edit my post after a certain amount of time? It's hugely frustrating to re-read a post I've made and realise it reads wrongly somehow, and not be able to edit it. Why would this be prevented? I go on way too many forums and none have this REALLY annoying feature, I just don't see the purpose?

Also, what are these points I have and what do they mean/do?

Thanks

There's a bit of discussion on this topic here - http://www.staffordforum.com/xf/index.php?threads/how-do-i-edit-my-posts.9471/ .

Further to the anonymity thread posted in General Chat:

If anyone wants me to change their username, for whatever reason, please message me and let me know. You can send a private message by clicking my avatar/username and then clicking Start a Conversation.

Bear in mind some basic Internet common sense when choosing:

· Choose a username that does not identify you to strangers
· Only refer to other users by their username, not by real names or nicknames
· Think twice before revealing personal info. about yourself, and certainly do not reveal info. about others without their express permission

The single most obvious rule, i suppose, is this: Everything you post on this Forum can be read by any one of the >1 billion Internet users around the world. Do not post anything you wouldn't want any of them to see! :ninja:

I know that seems like stating the obvious, but for some people here this is their first experience of an Internet forum so let's all try and make it as easy as possible for them. :)

Your friendly Forum Governator.

Which dialogue box do you mean? The standard reply box, located at the bottom of a thread?

I have tested using Chrome 39.0.2171.95 (64-bit), Firefox 34.0, and Safari 8.0.2 (10600.2.5) just now and can't recreate the problem, so am not sure what to advise, I'm afraid. :hmm:

On a (possibly) related note, I used Chrome for years and previously would never have considered using any other browser, but all that changed about 6 months ago when it started crashing all the time (something to do with conflicts between its built-in Flash support and the official Adobe Flash Player) and I switched to Firefox. Have to say, I much prefer Firefox as a browser now, and never have any instability issues - not to mention the fonts look a lot nicer. :)

I would recommend clearing your cache - that seems to solve most issues like the one you describe:

Edit: I haven't changed anything about The Forum since the big upgrade a few months ago, so it isn't anything at this end, I don't think. I have noticed that Chrome has updated a lot on me in recent weeks, though, so perhaps one of those updates has broken something?
