It was 4 years ago now!
As I recall, there was only so many that could be included in the pm, Colossal did apologise in the post afterwards, once they had got Grams out of the way of any tinternet.
It was a lovely evening, be nice if it could be repeated xx

I'm sure there was a disagreement over the wording on your asbo?

We can if we all migrate to @Gramaisc's chalet assuming his feathered chums have departed by then.

They don't now seem to have quite the childcare issues that they were relying on me for - though, I have been summoned three times today to deal with cats,

My son runs a pub in Leicester, part of the Black Country Ales Group.

I saw my son yesterday and he said that even though his pub was expecting to open in 10 days time he still didn’t know how it was going to work.

A vague 45 page document from the Government.

Brewery will be visiting this week to advise.

His pub is in the centre of Leicester and on 4th July, Leicester are playing at home, which would usually be a good day for him.

He’s now heard that pubs probably can’t show football matches anyway because of people crowding round a screen.

Also he also has to consider the clientele that used to just pop into the pub for company, and sit alone at the table all afternoon. Often others would call in and sit and share the table.

That’s not going to work now with social distancing but from a business point of view: how is that going to work if people want to sit quietly on their own?

Bird in Hand is re-opening and in the early hours of this morning he posted this on his facebook page -

"Hi Folks , we are in the middle of organising the pub to the safe guide lines from the government. Due to all that is changing we are operating with a table booking system , and table service . To avoid disappointment please book your tables . With slots of an hour , so if you wanted 12-1.30 you need to book 12-2pm . Please note there will be sanitising stations upon entry, and details will need to be recorded. Look forward to seeing you on the 4th July "

Shrew is also opening on the 4th but no details yet. I think a lot of pubs are going down similar lines to the Bird.

Yes my son was saying that he will probably have to do a table booking system but he feels sorry for some of his regular customers who won’t know about it. Older gentleman who aren’t online or don’t do Facebook. He might keep a few tables back for walk ins.

I know Wetherspoons aren't doing table bookings but once they reach designated capacity they will have someone on they door asking people to queue. They are also doing table service and asking people wherever possible to use their app to order, although there will be a couple of till points (order then go straight to your table to await drinks). Can't see some regular Wetherspoon's customers coping with this.

No, although Alex did help out there on a Friday (but not three years ago).

    It’s The Salmon.

Might not happen if they lock Leicester down again as they seem to be threatening.

Looks like that Leicester are going to delay the easing for a fortnight. Probably the right thing to do.

Son was in two minds about the pubs opening anyway.
He was looking forward to getting back to work and seeing people again but he personally thought that it was too soon to ease lockdown.

It was annoying though that the Government had those figures weeks ago but waited until all the pubs had reordered stock before telling them that they couldn’t open.
Those figures appear to be skewed now anyway.

All figures are always skewed, everything is always open to interpretation. Everything is designed to hide the truth, whatever the truth actually is. Everyone who comments on anything always has an agenda, which further distorts reality in order to push that agenda forward.

You can't trust politicians, obviously but neither can you necessarily trust the scientists.

You can't trust the press, whether you read the Daily Mail or the Guardian or anything in between. They manipulate the figures they are given by others, who have an agenda, to suit their own agenda.

And if you trust ANYTHING you read on social media than you're an utter fool.
