I think facemasks should become mandatory.
And learn how put it on and off safely...

(My box of disposable masks came without instructions. It was son who told me I wasn't wearing it right, as I hadn't squeezed the top part with metal in to seal around my nose properly. )

I've got a resusable one, it doesn't fit perfectly but it'll be fine. I'll be wearing it for about 4 hours straight when we go to the Isles of Scilly at the end of August so I'm practising wearing it for lengths of time. The OH however...

My phone played up as the hairdresser was telling me the new rules, so just read email from them... as well as extra £5 sanitisation charge informed of by phone (that wasn't mentioned on the email)...no drinks, magazines, turn up on smack on time and on your own, it says only bring your payment method with you, no additional things like handbags , shopping, etc and only coats if you really must and those go into a plastic bag on arrival. Face masks must be worn by customers, they will supply unless you want to wear your own.

Which pub do you get your hair done at then? :)

I spoke to Terry from the Bird today and booked a table for Monday afternoon.

There's no time limit on how long you have the table for or how many drinks you can have.

He also said he wasn't planning to have table bookings on weekdays but I thought I would book one because it looks like the weather may be ok and people are still not back at work so it could be busy.

Terry said he has a good range of real ales on as usual so I'm looking forward to a couple of hours out as long as it isn't overly busy.

Apparently there is a 46 page document for landlords to follow which is totally confusing and unclear on what's required. Can't believe Boris' numpties would issue a document like that, can you?

When we live in a world that deems the opening of pubs more important that the reopening of the education system I can’t help but feel like humanity is doomed.

Pubs generate taxes, schools generate intelligence* which makes people ask questions.

* Other options are available, no guarantee of mental ability implied

I walked past our pub a bit earlier and stopped to speak to some neighbours who lived opposite. In the 5 minutes I stood there I witnessed enough fuckwittery to make me not want to go to a pub for at least another 3 or 4 weeks.
I went to 2 shops today, and nearly had a full blown panic attack at the sheer amount of people/idiotic behaviour. Have people really forgotten that quickly?

I was glared at for a good 2 minutes in Newport Aldi this morning when I told a couple who were old enough to know better to go the correct way round the one way system. Let's not get started on the fact that they ask that only 1 person per household go in the shop.

Eccleshall pubs looking busy this afto. They'll have to get along without my coin for a while yet though. Social distancing seemed to have gone out of the window at The Cock when I drove past earlier.

The cops are inspecting the few places around where I am that are open. This started last night, as a response to some criticism of a few (mostly city-based) places earlier in the week. Amongst various possible sanctions, the point is being made that they have to tick a box to agree that the licence-holder is a 'responsible person' at every licence renewal or it's not going to be renewed.
