    Birmingham.

I think this is the problem with the supply and where it's getting to. He's also booked his second appointment, 11 weeks later.

If my folks get an appointment at MP I'm not sure I could get them there legally. There's no way dad can drive to Birmingham and, as there are two of them they can't legally be in my bubble, so I'd be on dodgy ground taking them there if stopped by plod.

I think you are allowed to take people on medical trips.

I think this is the national booking service Johnson was on about so in a few days more local places will appear, once they have the supply chain.

Or it could be like during the early days of booking a covid test, when you could find yourself booked in in Carlisle or somewhere hours away.

Just for once, I hope Boris and Handjob don't mess this up.

It's like when son goes to give his Plasma for the antibodies. He's got over 40 miles each way to the place. Luckily he's got a car .

Glad your dad has got his appointments @Lucy , and you are able to get him there .

He had a choice of where to book, but MP was the closest.

The army are involved which makes me feel like it'll go better. I also think it's them almost admitting outsourcing didn't work.

I don't get Milennium Point as a single venue, it's right in the city centre.

The NEC is used to huge amounts of traffic and close to two motorways

But then how can I be surprised after the lies and incompetence we've been fed in the last 12 months

    Perhaps someone could explain

    I do

And anyone who has served will say the same

You are only as good as the Ruperts in charge of you

You obey orders even when you know they will fuckeverything up. Because you have no choice

Let's hope things have improved in the last 20 years

    Jennens Rd Multi-storey is free

So you might want to park elsewhere if you want a quick in and out

I believe the Oxford rollout is at GPs isn’t it? So hopefully these long-distance journeys won’t be for long.

I think it depends on how the PCN are dealing with it, hence the Showground. There's not that much Pfizer vaccine around.

My 92year old F-I-L had his second Pfizer jab at the showground on Wednesday, 3 weeks to the day after his first one, quick & efficient service.
I’ve heard our GP will be sending people to the Roman Way(?) at Cannock for injections despite being just a couple of miles from the showground. I’ll have to wait & see whether that’s true, I’d have to drive past the showground to get to Longford Island FFS.

Every decision made on the Nightingale Hospitals has been wrong

    Expect chaos

    Also expect vaccination delays

Government has had a year, or if they had really prepared , several years, to roll out and enlist and train staff, returning retired staff and volunteers, logistics teams and emergency planners to mass vacinate a population.

Instead, and as 50,000 NHS workers become ill or isolated, they expect exhausted nurses doctors to do everything

    Nothing is learnt

I think that's the most astonishing thing

The epidemic may have caught countries like ours out when it started because we hadn't planned for it, but once you know of its existence you would expect Government to plan 3 , 4 , 5 stages ahead, for multiple scenarios so there was a clear decision making tool to work from

Government has learnt nothing from a years worth of tragically wrong decisions

And is continuing to fail to learn and failing to plan

Outrageous that they remain and remain convinced of any ability

And next winter, when we're in some sort of lockdown again, people will continue to say 'No one else would have done anything differently.'

Despite the fact that almost every country in the world did much better than us.

I'd never even heard of Beacon Park Hospital. Didn't realise there was a private hospital there (Or any of the other new places in that area until googling it)

Indeed. Whilst private hospitals can't really help with ITU they certainly have plenty of people who can vaccinate.

I guess it's better to spread the load from a travel and network point of view too.
