I know someone who seems to be wanting to pick which one they get. Like we pick the make of every other vaccine we get in life...

There are suggestions that the best option is to have different vaccines for the first & second jabs. Bit debatable.

I'd try phoning your surgery in the morning, the surgery contacted us by phone as an unidentified number, I missed mine, phoned back and got an earlier appointment than stepson who had answered his phone.

Stepson & I both got our jabs at the showground and they were AstroZenaca.

Hmmmm :hmm: It was 10.05 am when the call came , so makes me think maybe .... Will ring when I get up then, just incase. (Especially as well as being 65 , I'm on a shed load of medication each month to keep me ticking over )

Are you at Weeping Cross surgery? I think they're using it on a Thursday because lots of people I know up your way have all been then, so definitely ring first thing.

Why not call them to check? Apparently some people are being given jab appointments and they aren't quite in the top 4 categories so it can't do any harm to check.

If nothing else it will put your mind at ease.

I know people who are 65 that have been called this week and gone up the same day.
Thanks for spurring me on to ring. Must admit listening to the recorded message I nearly hung up , as it was saying not to ring them about covid jabs.
Well, it looks like I spoke too soon. I’ve just had a phone call from GP practice booking me in for Friday. /QUOTE]

Just had it and waiting to go now.
Was the pfizer one.
Well organised and very busy.
As mentioned above , wrap up warm. Bloody freezing where I'm sitting in line with the icy blast coming through the doors. Grab a seat further back if available!

The should have left you a voicemail!
All the best for today, wrap up warm
Thanks :)
Maybe why the take up lower in places if calls are missed. My neighbour had a missed call on Tuesday from private number, so she rang surgery today when I told her about my missed call & it was drs. They didn't try ringing her back or leave message either.
She's now booked in for today as well.

I guess they are just trawling through lists to try and book up empty slots at the moment, over 65s will start getting their letters in the next week or so so won't miss out.

Felt guilty driving past an old man standing freezing at the showground exit on Weston Rd thumbing a lift.
But not allowed to give lifts , wouldn't like to risk a stranger on my own anyway , and wouldn't take the risk of being in close contact with a possibly infected person.
Felt so sorry for him , and now worrying whether he's still standing there :hmm:

My slot was still there available for 11.05 today , as if I was going anyway. So I would have been a no-show if I hadn't plucked up the courage to ring (was thinking I'd be told off for being a nuisance ringing)

Hope I get the call up soon then, being 65.
Is It by a phone call, text or letter through the post?
( My faulty phone won't work with calls & texts whilst charging , so going to have to charge overnight so that I'm contactable and hope it doesn't play up. :hmm: )
I'm nearer 66 than 65, got a 'phone call from Holmcroft Surgery yesterday afternoon and had the jab at the showground this lunchtime.

Enjoying a drop of red.

I wonder how those in Stafford who don’t read local (or not so local) rags are meant to know
There you go...
